I belong to the MU Mountaineering Club, the Squash Club, MU Biomedical Eng Socitey, women in Science and Engineering (they don't do heaps), and Engineers Without Borders. Those are pretty interest specific though. I've never joined any of those odd ones like "pizza appreciation society!"
If I had time I'd join one of the board game ones though.

Wait...there's a "pizza appreciation society"?!?!?!

I joined the Russian Society, Potterheads and Chocolate Lovers Society...

I decided to do ECON10004 in semester 1 but every single tutorial class is full (there are 95 tutorial classes).
Can I just attend any tutorial or will there be not enough space?

They'll open up new tutorial slots soon given the excess demand.

Ok, I will just attend any tutorial on Monday then and see what happens. Hopefully they open new tutorial classes that don't clash with my other classes.
I already have a clash on my timetable and they said it is impossible to avoid so I will have to watch at least one lecture online.

A couple of questions:

* do you (aimed at 2nd, 3rd etc. years) find that the lecturer asks you to refer to previous lecture notes during the current lecture?

* should we be treating our breadth subjects like 1/2 subjects, whereas our core subjects like 3/4 subjects? I hate having to make a vce reference, but that's the best analogy I could come up with for trying to suss out the importance of the breadth subject.

thanks  :)

I'm quite sad today to hear that COMP10001 canceled the evening lecture on Tuesday, creating clash in my previously clash free timeline. :(

Hey mate,
-I remember for biology we were often told to bring lecture slides from the previous lecture.
Just keep your lecture slides in a folder I guess so you can be ready.
- Nah, breadth subjects are equal in terms of credit. So if you get H1 breadth and H3 core, thats equivalent to a H3 breadth + H1 core.

Hope that helped.

Please don't PM me for lecture slides or recordings. I don't have them anymore.

*of course YES

*i would treat core subjects more seriously as if you fail them you may not be able to continue your major whereas if you fail your breath you can just pick another one

Do you think they will re-open that class or is the decision final?
Do you know whether the lectures will be recorded or not? Do we access the recordings from the LMS?
I wish I could skip COMP10001 and do COMP10002 but in order to be able to do the diploma in computer science I have to do COMP10001.

I don't know myself. I will ask the lecturer on Monday. But looking from the current timetable, there are no alternative lectures either for lecture 1 and 3.
