I did the same, but when I look at my unpaid fees the SSAF fee is still highlighted in red, I don't think it worked.

I would just not even bother if it was "optional". But they said that if you don't pay, you may get unenrolled from your subjects so that got me crapping bricks LOL

I did the deferring with SA help and I now have no mandatory payments, the SA fee thing is now with my subjects as "optional"?

Same it says optional, but is yours highlighted in red?

Yeh man, it's red LOL But so are my subjects which are on HECS? I'm pretty sure it just means that you can pay for it now.
