Don't do research kids. You'll spend your weekends writing ethics applications whilst your friends send you snapchats of parties.
I'm not bitter at all *sobs*
MD research isn't the real research life.
I got stuck outside Neuroscience just now (ie, late) in the rain because my cars starter motor is fucked and the racv told me this but I chose to drive it anyway. It wouldn't turn on so I had to coax someone from my lab out of PDI and onto Royal Pde to literally hit it with a plastic umbrella whilst I turned over the engine - it worked right away. It was too afraid to ask the strangers passing by because I thought they would think I was insane for trying to use an umbrella to force my engine to start but it all turned out okay in the end. This was the second time it happened today - the first time was in fucking university square carpark because I was FORCED to park there due to graduation or whatever other ridiculous and trivial event going on that caused 5 million people to try and park at uni when it's usually relatively quiet at the time I was trying to arrive.
EDIT; oh yeah THE POINT of me telling that story is that I thought I would have to post on here and see if anyone just happened to be studying in the Spot tonight that could come and hit my car with the umbrella.
Ahh, weekend uni. I need to remember not to drive in next week - that's open day, right!?
