When you say behind, do you mean that you haven't watched/gone to that lecture or that you haven't revised it?

That's a bit earlier then last year.

Generally, biochemistry is a subject where you have to know everything - unless they've specifically said you don't have to learn something, you should learn it. I usually study for biochemistry by making notes from the lecture content (although as long as you revise them thoroughly, you'll be fine,) and going off past exams. There's a bit of rote in BCMB20002 (mainly amino acids and metabolism,) so flashcards can be useful ere.

That said, they do sometimes reuse past exam questions, so do use them as a guide.

Just checking in, how is everyone coping at the moment?!

Workload seems to have increased a shit tonne from semester 1!

First year? There's a notable increase - first semester is as much about getting settled into uni, as it is about actually learning anything. Second semester's where things start to get interesting though...

I'm biding time until the start of my BIOM30003 research project - BCMB30001 and PHRM20001 aren't so bad yet, but midsems are on the horizon so I've got to keep on top of everything (okay, I'm actually finding BCMB30001 a bit weird, but Paul Gooley's section of the course looks hardest looking at the course outline.) That said, knocked off my 1500 word breadth essay today, so at least that's out of the way.

When the research project starts up I'm expecting a fair bit of work in a relatively short period of time, so I'm trying to get as much out of the way before it starts.

Frick. I need to go over SO MUCH then. Sigh. This is not going to end well.

If you've had Paul Gooley, you'll need to know your amino acids - there's a couple of easy marks there as long as you know them.

The lucky second semester students get Terry Mulhern for a lot more of the course, including Paul's section :'(. But in saying that, knowing the amino acids is absolutely free marks.
(Though I probably couldn't tell you much about them now :c)

Funny how?
I would've loved if terry took ape shame kinetics @ A @
I think Paul does a great job with proteins though <3

Oh man, I accidentally clicked to sign up for Terry's protein structure and function assignment even though the some of other topics looked way more interesting QQ WHY IS THERE NO GROUP CHANGE BUTTON. Q n Q
