What are the conditions for doing overload (all years, I know it's not a first year option)?
(Looks like I lied about the barrage of questions.)

simple search shows:

Quote
If you are a later year student, you may apply to overload if you have:

Successfully undertaken a full-time enrolment, normally of 50 points, within the previous six months of study; and
Received no fails within the previous six months of study; and
Achieved an average of at least H2B (ie 70% or more) for all subjects attempted within the previous six months of study; and
In the case of an overload in Summer, demonstrated that the subjects you are planning to undertake have been timetabled without clashes

100 points in the normal Semester 1 and 2 year. My bad, crap phrasing.

One semester = max 50 points (unless overload)
Summer = max 25 points
Ah great thanks! I was getting a bit worried :P

I think you can go in at anytime to get your student card, well you should be able to.

You're better to try getting it done earlier. I'm not sure if you were able to do it on AAD, if not then I guess most students will do it during O-week and if you wait till then there will be massive queues!

I got a new student card today and it took me three seconds.  It was terrible though because the worst thing happened: my MOTHER had to come with me to uni because my neck was destroyed and I can't turn it to drive D: I had to go today because registration for quota subjects ends today!  Parents at uni is always a good time for everyone.

I'd probably wait for the first week of uni, it will be a lot quicker to get it done then

Queues for student cards in O-week can be very long, so I'd strongly recommend getting it done beforehand.  And I wouldn't recommend waiting for the first week of uni, simply because there's a good chance you'll need a student card for something before then.
The Finnish word pilkunnussija, which translates literally to “comma fucker,” is someone who risks his social wellbeing to annoyingly and persistently point out punctuation errors.

In some instances this may be the case. From personal experience I only needed my ID card for pracs, exams and access to the libraries during exam period

And also, to add to the already existing awesome list:

1.  Concessions at the MC cinema.
2.  Verifying student status at Commonwealth Bank.
3.  Other student offers such as the ones at the Queensberry Hotel.

i got mines done at my student centre yesterday. it actually took me 2 minutes in and out. The only bad thing about uni IDs compared to high school IDs are the fact that they use a webcam to take a pic rather than a photographer :P
joining the uni gym also requires the student card too to get the student fees (if you're into the fitness side of things)

Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to link our UoM gmail to the gmail app on our phones. I tried using the same password for the student portal but it doesn't seem to do the trick :/
Only spent two days there but loving it already!
