the problem with studding for psych is that u read the thing and tell urself oh! it is so obvious! but then u cannot recall that 'obvious' thing at exam! :'( :'( :'(

I will never choose psych subject again! their topics tempt me to go and learn them...but it is just not right for me :(

ps: guys,girls...is it normal to change the major u want to study every day in first year? during last week I have rolled over all life science majors!

Don't worry, I changed my major x4 this year. It's good that you're exploring options.

Bad timing for me to post my neuroscience undergrad plan, aha. But I feel VICTORIOUS. This is the first study plan I'm content with.

Second year:

science and pseudoscience

animal structure and function

biological psych

principles of human structure

human physiology

research-based physiology

cognitive psych

breadth

third year

Principles of Neuroscience

human physiology

neurophysiology: Neurons and circuits

frontiers in physiology

breadth

 visual neuroscience

 sensation movement and complex function

viscera and visceral systems

breadth

^ I have 9 subjects for third year. Any recommendations on what I should remove, or unrelated improvements? I really want to bludge and retain the breadths...

OMG!! Those third year subjects are exactly the same options I'm thinking of doing if I major in neuroscience next year. But I haven't made up my mind on what I want to major in yet. :-\

Don't worry too much about the third year subjects for now. When I was planning my major at the end of first year I had like 5 majors I really wanted to do. But after doing some of the second year subjects I managed to narrow it down to about 3. So maybe you would have a better idea of what subjects you would like to take at the end of second year.

You have excellent taste ha! What were your second year classes, were they fun?

I had to work backwards. There are a million second year classes I like, but very few subjects in third year, so I found their prerequisites and 'recommended' classes from second year and tried to overlap as much as possible. But I do expect the plan to change x34242 over the next year.  :o

Has anyone actually taken BIOM30003 Biomedical Science Research Project or SCIE30001 Science Research Project?

I don't think I will qualify for either with a Biomedical Engineering major….. especially if you need Level 3 subjects under your belt?  That means I can only take it in Semester 2 of 3rd year?

My problem with majors is, one moment I am like lets think about them as pathway to DDS...so lets choose one that is easiest! but they all look the same!which one then is the easiest?

then one moment I am like,no...lets make a courier out of it!

right now, not even a chocolate pizza can help my brain to relax!

Don't worry, I changed my major x4 this year. It's good that you're exploring options.

Second year:

....
cognitive psych

....

why cognitive?...I mean if you liked stuff Meredith said in MBB1 then go for it as it is mainly like that. But consider personality and social psych too! I found it more interesting,it was that kind of subject that at the end of each lecture you ask urself...am I crazy? am I normal?...which is cool!:D and also amount of info in lectures are really not that much! they are mostly experiences which are so interesting that you will atho learn them!

cognitive...there are tooooooooooo many info for each lecture!and I really didnt understood the story! also my friends who done first semester level 2 psych and were science students liked biological psychology.

at the end it depends on your interest for sure...I just did cognitive exam last week and tomorrow is personality and social one...maybe my brain is not honest really at this moment:D:D

My study plan changes literally like thrice a week. It's ridiculous.

I'm trying to choose between Cognite Psychology and Personality and Social Psychology for next year but I just can't decide! Anyone have any advice? I won't have done a uni psych subject before then, if that makes a difference. Should I not do either? I'm really only interested in psych from an English/writing/sociology perspective, not a scientific one so much.

I worked backwards too. I took subjects like cell biology, microbiology and immunology, physiology, anatomy and pathology this year because I was interested in those particular majors and I really enjoyed all of them. I also had to take the prac subjects that were prerequisites for some of the majors . So it was a bit hard to narrow down the choices. Everything is soooo exciting!!  ;D

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm at the end of second year and I still keeping swapping majors in my study plan.
And yea I must have changed my subjects about 400 times already in the past few weeks  ::)

Probs do Personality/Social then!  I did Cog and it was good but a bit more Science-y I guess?

Has anyone actually taken BIOM30003 Biomedical Science Research Project or SCIE30001 Science Research Project?

I haven't because I didn't have room but a few of my friends did it and they really enjoyed it!  You get to learn a lot of stuff in the lab, helps you meet people in the departments you might apply to Honours to etc.  My friend did one at WEHI for Pathology and two other friends in MIIM one in the Brooks lab and one in the Doherty lab under ST.  Were pretty stoked about the whole thing!  I would have done it if I coulda done it.

Honestly chose Biomed over Science because it meant I wouldn't have to choose subjects...contemplating majors makes me sick.
