When do we know we have to pay SSAF(amenities fees)? I don't have it at my Statement of Liability.

Hey guys,

just curious here, IF I failed a subject in first year uni and and repeating it in 2nd year, how would they calculate it in my GPA?

PS (not saying I failed or anything, just curious) :)

Thanks!

umm i think that depends on what you're using the gpa for but i'll let the more knowledgeable members give you a proper answer

They use both when calculating your GPA. Your fail will still be apart of the calculation.

Thanks melonbar + hancock :)

I'm not totally clear with how they calculate it if they include the fail.

Lets say the fail is a GPA of 0 (for Dentistry or post grad health sciences) and lets say the repeat mark is 70% which is H2B or a (GPA = 6), would they just average the GPA?

Thanks!

So let's say:

First year: 7 H2A's + 1 F
Second Year: 7H2A's + 1 H2B + 1H3 (you still need to make up for the lost credit)
Third Year: 8H2A's

First year sum = 7*6.5 + 0 = 45.5/8 =>5.6785
Second year sum = 7*6.5 + 6.0 + 5.0 = 56.5/9 =>6.2777
Third year sum = 8*7.5 = 52/8 => 6.5

Therefore: GEMSAS GPA = (1*5.6785 + 2*6.2777 + 3*6.5)/6 = 6.2889

Honestly, I don't know why you're so interested if it didn't happen to you. There's no shame in failing a subject tbh, just learn from your past experience.

Trust me, when you need to pay something and you haven't done so already, the university will do whatever it takes to make sure you know about it. You should be fine for now :P

Help. I decided my subject matter for a still life painting due in Painting Techniques will be a heart and a brain, because apparently my own brain is hackneyed and pedestrian. However I'm unsure how to arrange them in a still life. A mantle with a heart sculpture next to a book with a human brain emblazoned on the cover? Two chess pieces, black carved into a brain and white into a heart, on opposite ends of a chess board? The organs floating in transparent jars of alcohol and glycerin? plz assist, smartypants of the forum.
WHY WEREN'T YOU GOING TO? EXPLAIN YOURSELF!

But yes wow yes such attend many prosper wow.

It doesn't sound worth it unless you're a ‎~networker‎~, and I will network over my dead body. In fact several lecturers and tutors probably consider me hostile and inflammatory :x For the principle of the matter1!! not really.

The arty Southbank campus is pretty nice btw! Denizens seem warmer than at Parkville. The majority of windows double as mirrors so we can gaze at ourselves a lot. And all the men wear tight pants. Downside: the coffee in the nearest cafes taste bitter (that may be me, after training as a barista for a bit most coffee now tastes bitter), everyone is too sleepy atm to open before 9:15 AM and my swipe card doesn't work so I have to tail the maintenance guys all shifty like.

Another upside: the road in front of the painting studios doesn't allow cars, so if police want to cut through it they can only ride through the road using ponies. Ponies in adorable stripey socks. And one of the ponies looked at me and I waved at the pony and it was the best.

I gave deemed the coffee at the VCA itself the best in the area but their food and snacks suck so I sacrifice coffee taste and go to Blondie

My genuine condolences. No university student should be forced to be at Parkville that early.
