I'm doing it next semester...! And apart from ESD2 I haven't done any physics for 11 years :-/

Mechanics is just one of those things that no matter how many times I do it I still dont get it!
I was just confused for 99% of the mechanics part of ESD2 and it was basically revision from what i learnt in year 11 and 12

Yeah it doesn't gel that well with my brain but I'm determined to conquer it. I pretty much got through ESD 2 by memorising steps to solve the mechanics questions. I loved the Programming and Logic components of ESD though.

Yeah I'm going to put a lot of extra study into it since I'll have more mechanics subjects to do in the future.. the thought of it though makes me want to cry
Programming and digital circuits were amazing as a result I'm only doing programming subjects and FoEN this year, fun time ahead!

Mechanics bring bad memories... the last question in the 4U paper was a mechanics question worth 9 marks. I wonder how many marks I got out of those 9, probably 1 lol

esd2 is required and its a really good subject gives you a true insight on what engineering will be like..
can't tell if legit... o.o;;;;

Don't do Accellerated Maths if you aren't maths confident.

nononononooo. i was definitely not maths confident when i started uni and hell, i definitely still am not math confident at all! but AM was so interesting!! and i feel like so many people miss out on an amazing subject because it sounds too intimidating/hard and i feel like that is a massive shame. :(

Has anyone done the subject 'Critical thinking with data'? What did you think of it?

The guy that did the lecture in AAD was misinformed then because he said ESD1 is required.
Would I be at a disadvantage if I don't do physics 1 considering that most mechanics subjects are based on physics 1?
Also, how much harder is accelerated maths than calculus 1 and 2? On average if someone gets 90 in calculus 2/linear algebra, how much would they get in accelerated maths?
Thank you for your help.
Hi,
I'm in Commerce and taking the Mechanical stream. The only physics I've ever done prior to uni was in year 7-10 science - most of which I have forgotten... I have still yet to take a subject devoted to physics at uni - only the mechanical stream subjects. I've managed to do alright without any extensive physics knowledge. All I can say is make sure you understand everything you learn and tutorial questions are your best friends - learn them back to front. You won't be disadvantaged if you put in the effort, but if you don't go to classes and are slack you will most definitely be disadvantaged.

Good stuff Hancock!!

I hope Nikoli, anazergal and you all had fun at White Night! My favourite part of White Night was leaving it to visit the pub.

Btw, it's me!

Aw yay! Simpak, charmanderp and I will see you in the engineering staff breakroom!
