"Bachelor of Science (Honours)" - does the 'Honours' stand for 'we are honoured to make your life a living hell'?

From the honours/HDR students I know, it's more of a "we're going to be making your life a living hell and you should be grateful for it" situation.

jks jks Honours sounds great, can't wait to get out of the classroom setting tbh

Can doing horrible in Honours bring down your GPA or will it not have much affect (that is won't increase it at all, or by very little)??

It depends on what you want to do after Honours, is what Russ meant.  Like, if you want to do a PhD in the scholarship considerations they only look at third year and Honours.  If you want to do Med they take the most recent three years so that would be Level 2 (x1), Level 3 (x2) and Honours (x3).  But it also depends on when you apply because you won't have your Honours thesis marks or anything when you're applying for Medicine if you apply during your Hons year.  You'll have to meet the requirements of a provisional offer when the grade does come out though.

Does that answer your question?

It's a very important year if you plan on doing further study...but if you just want to take your degree and run it doesn't matter so much what class you were.

Just a heads up to everyone that the Census Date is around the corner. For your standard semester 1 subjects, the census date is next Mon 31 March. For newbies who have no idea what this means - (1) the census date is the last day to withdraw from your subjects, and (2) it's the day you need to pay your fees.

For Flora of Victoria, which ran for two weeks, there was a short break between lectures one and two and a lunch break before the prac each day. I'd assume Painting Techniques also provides students with some sort of recuperative break, but ask Ballerina.

Sidebar: Irene Stanley is an absolute sweetheart and I think I actually like biochemistry, send help.

Super curious now. All UoM brothers and sisters, please take the Myer-Briggs personality test and report back. I need to label and categorize you.

What's your ~Myer-Briggs Personality Type~?

6 consecutive hours per a day, 2 lunch breaks. First is for thirty minutes around 10:30 AM, second is at 12:30 PM for an hour. It's closer to 7 hours; 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. People really came and went as they pleased, though. It's the VCA. YOU CANNOT STRUCTURE ~CREATIVE GENIUS~ WITHIN THE CONFINES OF A SCHEDULE *temperamental artist falsetto*

I'm an INFP, I knew I should have done Arts :I
I'm not sure I'm quite so airy-fairy when it comes to discussion about factual topics, but otherwise I think it's surprisingly close to home and that scares me :(
