I AM HYPERVENTILATING RIGHT NOW AND NEED TO MAKE A SELF-CENTRED POST

Assessments coming up this week: German 20% writing test, German 3.34% reflective journal, Animal Structure & Function 15% 750-word essay, Biochem 10% MST.
Things I still have to do: finish test revision, write 250 word journal entry about German music (in German), write entire essay, revise four more lectures in their entirety

I DIDN'T EVEN PROCRASTINATE ON ANYTHING ;-;

Leave house at 10.10 for MCB MST at 12, ETA 11.30.

---> Oakleigh train cancelled.
---> Next train delayed by 7 mins.
---> Train now no longer running through city loop.
---> Get off at Richmond, wait 5 mins for next city loop.
---> Finally get on the tram at 11.55

Sprint to Wilson Hall and get there just past 12 when everybody is filling in details.

Fuck you public transport.

Thank you, that has been added to my pre-exam nightmares in addition to the 'where is my calculator I PUT MY CALCULATOR IN MY HANDBAG THIS MORNING' dream.

oh my god @_@ petting zoo for you

moi: Biological Psychology lab report: 20%
Comparative Nutrition and Digestion Assessment 2 (it's about lactating rats n_n): 15%
Human Physiology midsemester test: 15% , a few microassessments
Genetics, Health & Society online test: 5%?

hmm I probably should limit cartoon-watching time to a maximum of 4 hrs/day

How was the MCB test by the way?

Where have you been?!?! How are ~your~ subjects?

Oh my godsdhfisdhfs. Can someone please explain why there are so many women who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom next to the vegan food co-op store?

This morning a girl passed me who flushed the toilet but didn't even acknowledge the sinks. (If you're reading, I was the one who called 'gross' after you. You need to improve your diet, by the way. Even after you flushed your debris remained, and you're Type 6 on the Bristol stool scale. Maybe you should increase your meat/diary intake, both include magnesium.) (And if any others remember being called out there, it was probably me as well. Red lipstick + black shorts/skirt.) The one immediately after also flushed and then just left. This happens all the time in the morning. Is it some environmental thing, similar to the fact it's one of the few bathrooms which don't have paper towels (which in contrast is actually an awesome idea)?

Meta analysis showing the health benefits of handwashing just for those lovely, lovely ladies.

Was not too bad i think. Quite a few questions repeated from previous years in the genetics part

There was a question on the 2013 MST1 on developmental genetics (near the end with the image of the activators and repressors) that we had never gone through before in any detail whatsoever; it was a tricky one, such that less than 25% (I think) of people got it right despite there being 4 options. But that was the only exception, most of the questions if you have done the work should be accessible. MST2 I found was easier than MST1, so it should get even better from here.

hmm I probably should limit cartoon-watching time to a maximum of 4 hrs/day

I'm still here! Though I am posting a lot less frequently... Including this post 8 for the whole year so far haha...
Been more busy recently.

How are ~your~ subjects?
I love my subjects this semester. Thanks for asking.
There is a large workload, but I am enjoying them.
I love the clarity of the lectures in Immunology and Bacteriology, they are taught well.
Molecule to Malady is a wonderful subject; at the same time it has the largest workload and assumed knowledge. But we learn about a number of diseases of which are well taught and interesting. To incorporate patients in the subject gives it a bit of a Genetics, Health and Society-like twist as well.
This semester, I chose an additional selective instead of a breadth: FOOD20003: Food Chemistry, Biology and Nutrition.. It is a good subject. Maybe it would do the person you were complaining about a favour lol.
2014: Microbiology/Immunology Major.

Thanks to (alphabetical order):
2010: appianway. 2011: Kamil9876, laseredd, xZero. 2012: dc302, harper, marr.
Multiple times: pi, Russ, stonecold, TT.

Hey, do any of the biochem students from last year (El2012, simpak, Sinner, jinny etc.) recall how maths-y their MST MCQs were? I'm not sure what I really need to take away from Alana Mitchell's graphs and kinetics.

They've structured the order of the lectures differently from when most of us did biochem. The MST last year in semester 1 didn't contain Alana Mitchell's stuff :S

But from what I remember, she didn't expect you to know all the formulas that she presented, probably just the final equations like the michaelis menten one etc. The end of semester exam only had this kind of stuff present in the MCQ part and not in the extended response questions.

This general thread is starting to remind me of facebook lol -.- Too much whining over petty stuff.

#FIRSTWORLDPROBLEMS

Yea we lucked out, pretty sure we didn't have any of her stuff in our MCQs. But for exams, just memorise the main equations and just ignore the slides that show how to derive them.

Important thing to know is how changing the variables alter the shape of the graphs (e.g the double reciprocal plots). The math bits are really easy once you know the formula.

I have very extensive summaries for biochem which simpak graciously sent to me. pm me or her if you want them :) They probably have more words than all the summaries i've written for the past 20+ subjects so far lol :P
:D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D
