So 2nd semester of 3rd year can just be purely focused on my final design capstone project!

I just think it's a really bad idea...it seems like a good idea to you now, but it never ends well.
Well, it rarely ends well.
You're better off just doing four subjects every semester than you are five in one semester and three in another.
Or it makes more sense to take a summer subject and then reduce load in a true semester.

Why the fuq do all of you people feel the need to overload all the time?
Back in my day...

I also don't see the need to finish your degree 6 months earlier or whatever... like it makes a difference.
But you know, I'm old and doddery and never in a rush these days....

i have 26 contact hours also. :'( it should actually be 27 but i have a clash :\

i think those of us who are overloading are doing it because we're doing diplomas and want to finish our degree on time, not because we're trying to shorten our degrees :')

13.7 contact hours. The 0.7 contact hour sounds exhausting.

Whiiich one, what are your subjects this semester?

Someone on the other page mentioned the quota confirmation comes out on the 6th? of July, and on the Human Physiology facebook page someone writes,

"I'm having the same problem!! For both research phys and anatomy! We don't find out about quota subjects until next week or so!! Think we just select classes and if we don't get in to the subject out enrolment from it is withdrawn and we have to pick another subject..

I get why you want to do it scribble I just don't get why people who aren't doing diplomas want to overload.

Like where does it get you? (Legit question).
More often than not, as hobbitle alluded to, even if you finish early you can't go straight into your postgrad degree...are you just trying to put yourself through hell so you eventually reach a 6 month break?  Overloading makes grades suffer - unless people have a legit reason they would want to do it I just don't see the point.  Wanting to free up space in later semesters so your grades are better in those semesters is stupid because you already ruined your grades in the semester you overloaded.  It would even out.

I would even argue towards doing a diploma and then overloading being a shit reason because people had chosen to take the diploma knowing that it was designed to extend your degree...because it's an extra qualification. You're not actually 'meant' to take a diploma and a bachelor and still finish in three years.  This isn't America - you are paying the same.  In America, if you do 5 subjects or 4 subjects (at least at my uni) it still costs 40 000 a year.  Here, you pay per subject!  So overloading just means you paid more that semester!
But each to their own - time is money I suppose.  Perhaps I am the only one who doesn't care about having an exceedingly lengthy education.  Perhaps I am 'one-of-a-kind' because I shy away from the real world, crawling into my bubble of academia forever because it is so beautiful and serene.

Idk in all seriousness, I feel like the fact that so many people are doing it HERE on AN makes it IN VOGUE to other people that are here on AN and I think that is super dangerous.  Obviously some people will be able to overload without it hurting their GPA too much but tears will be shed by many when they realise why the majority of the university population doesn't overload.  Aka, AN filled with H2Bs.  The horror, the shame.

But anyway, if I were vice chancellor/president/queen of world I would totally make overloading illegal.
This is because it is my true aim in life to be the dictator of a country.
Democracy is for chumps because I know what is best for everyone!

None of the psychology subjects are coming up as a breadth for either science or arts degrees on the handbook :( How long has it been like that? I thought that psych subjects could be enrolled as a breadth for either of the degrees.
