Has anybody ever asked the subject coordinator to go through your exam and check if more marks can be given? friend said this bout my 79s, but i can see it being a waste of time & coordinator getting pissy. worth a shot?

i don't see how it could it hurt if you're not gonna see the coordinator again?

I don't know how credible The University of Melbourne Confessions is ololol, but apparently if you want to do it, do it soon. For people who felt they put more effort in than was recognized by their marks, it appears most of the time they gained a few more marks. Some people actually get marked down though, so idk if it's worth it unless you think they made an error https://www.facebook.com/UniversityOfMelbourneConfessions/posts/628756817232486

Tell us how it works out! n_n I've always been curious about that. I'm pretty sure in my case I just didn't study enough and took too many naps and television marathons though.

Do Plato to Einstein!!! Kristian Camilleri is one of the best lecturers I've ever had. The course content was amazing as were the assessments (IIFC 3 short assignments and a 2000 word essay?).

Thank you! Just enrolled right now.
Also, i'm considering of doing a math diploma (maybe pure or applied) next year. Is it possible to apply for advanced standing/credit after being admitted into the diploma (eg can real analysis be credited to the bachelor course, and then be cross-credited to the diploma?). I contacted 13 MELB and one of them said it can be done, but I just wanted to confirm here just so that I heard him right. Thanks :)

To the best of my knowledge, this is true.

Psych kids - how difficult is cognitive psych? I'm enrolled in it as my science elective but now I'm thinking of changing after hearing it's pretty hard. Not sure if its a wise subject choice for an elective... TIA

I looked through the lecture captures recently, though I'm taking it prospectively as well.. It seems standard for a psych subject, less difficult than Biological Psychology I took last semester. If you took MBB1 or MBB2, I think it will be pretty straight-forward for you. That said, several have mentioned Personality and Social Psychology (the other psych class running this semester) is easier than Cognitive Psychology. It's always subjective ofc.

Charmanderp, how are you finding 2nd year economics subjects/which are you taking?
I did Inter Micro over summer. Literally the easiest subject I've ever done. Have heard it's awful in semester 1 though. Doing Globalisation and the World Economy and Economics of Food Markets next semester. If you want a good second year econ subject do Comp and Strat (game theory subject), apparently it's fab.

Yep, the lecturer that takes it in semester 1, isn't great. At all.

Could anyone shed some light on the maths major of Discrete Maths & Operations Research? I'm a commerce student (Eco & Fin) considering a concurrent maths diploma. Some browsing and looking at the subjects involved has this major appealing to me most. But having so far only taken Calc2, LinAlg & Pr for Stats, I don't feel like I have much of an idea of what it involves.
