MD research isn't the real research life.

Wut?

*waves* from Barcelona. PhD research is great, got sent to Sicily for a 10 day summer school that involved more eating, drinking, socialising and partying than it did school #nerdnation #fearthetree.

:'(((

Dream of going to study Arts at Melbourne I declare is officially: over!

Studying hard but just not getting the quantitative marks necessary, not confident enough, anything can happen in a SAC or Exam situation etc...

It concentrates the mind to realise just how finite life and dreams are, for me anyway. I hoped I could wake up in the Dr. Seuss tradition and possibly live life knowing that it is better to stay up rather than experience it in my dreams.

I will have to create more of these hypothetical illusions.

Congratulations on everyone for going to a prestigious university like Melbourne, undoubtedly worked hard for it!

Also, prospective Year 12 students will be delighted to know that 1 name is well and truly crossed off the list already :)

Why have that attitude dude? I'm not really going to be all inspirational becuase you're probably sick of hearing all of it throughout the year etc.
The question is, why do you keep doubting yourself? Sure, its good to have a little bit of doubt because being too cocky can be detrimental to your outcome/performance but as you said "anything can happen in a SAC or Exam situation etc... "

I understand you've been really working hard as well. But you have to understand that hard work =/= results. Sometims you have to have a little confidence in yourself and just accept when things don't go your way and just move on. It's a part of life.

Put it down anyway and see what happens - my ATAR was several points higher then I was expecting (school got lucky with scaling.)

Melbourne's a great university, but there are plenty of other great universities out there.

But my name is Switzerland and I'm new to ATARnotes! Have we ever met before? :P

I wish you were taking living longer, cognitive psychology, or the biomed equivalent of anatomy/biochemistry, sharing notes and DEFINITELY NOT COLLUSION would be the best with you! But everyone takes biochemistry in first semester. There were five tutorials in the first semester, and there is one tutorial in the second semester ahaha. https://sis.unimelb.edu.au/cgi-bin/subjects.pl?scode=BCMB20002&year=2014

Don't do research kids. You'll spend your weekends writing ethics applications whilst your friends send you snapchats of parties.

I'm not bitter at all *sobs*

Ethics applications are still miiiiiiiles better than funding or grant applications haha

What are you researching?
