When I opened up my PHYC10007 exam during reading time I just laughed. Way to throw your students under a truck. XD

PHYC10004 exam is strangely complicated as well.

If your exam time is 8:30, that is when reading time starts and so on.

Mhmm. For example, there was a question on content we didn't even cover in the lectures. Only those who read the textbook would have known how to do it.

The start times do, the durations do not. i.e. if you have an exam with a listed start time of 8:30, duration of 3 hours and reading time of 15 minutes, it means that 8:30 - 8:45 is reading time and 8:45 - 11:45 is writing time.

You should aim to get to the exam venue half an hour before the start of reading time anyway, especially at the REB - they usually start letting people in a few minutes early.

O____o did a lot better on that than I was expecting. I thought I was rolling around bsing through that entire midsem.

Yeah, definitely a relief after the exam to see that I hadn't done too poorly.

Best of luck to those doing pharmacology tomorrow! Past students have said the exam isn't too bad, so hopefully that trend continues :)

Hey guys,

I know I'm not allowed to do this, and I hope moderators don't do anything, but I just wanted to ask a quick question not related to this thread. Just wanted some little advice from all you experts.

I have a methods exam tomorrow 3pm. I always wake up aroudn 7am-8amish, so I'll have about 6 hrs to wait before the exam. I have a chemistry and physics exam next week, so would it be okay if I did some practise chem/physics exam before my big methods exam 2?? Will it deter my concentration/energy for the methods exam??

Thanks so much!

I don't think you needed the textbook that much in HSF. Anatomy assessment in HSF is fair and based off the slides, physiology is based off the lecture slides (so far) but the biggest fucking problem is that you don't know what to assume and not to assume.

For example, David will tell you that myelination will greatly increase the speed in neurons with a large diameter but that it'll slow down in smaller-diameter neurons.

Then on his question on "How does myelination affect the conduction velocity?", the answer is "Increase" instead of "Not enough information".

So it's more of a "guess what David is thinking" game.

If you're energetic enough for it, I would. But not too long obviously (maybe 1-2 hours).

You just wait for HSF...

Last year I didn't open my textbook for anatomy and barely touched the worksheets they gave us. I learnt everything on the slides from lectures. I got 92 for the subject (I hope this doesn't come across as boasting, I'm just using it for evidence that im not talking crap). I think that shows all you need to do is learn the slides, and you'll be fine :)
