It was on the email from VTAC titled "VTAC offer information". The date was on Academic Advice Day (23/1), which is why I'm a bit confused whether we need to complete enrolment during the time specified on the 23rd, or if that allocated time is simply for us to ask enrolment advice etc., but can complete it in our own time.

It's the latter, I believe enrollment closes on the 30th of Jan.

Could someone please help me clarify what exactly happens on Academic Advice day, and why my email tells me that my enrolment time is 9-10am, when I can enrol online by myself?? Thanks !

Yeah for some reason the email from VTAC tells me the enrolment time/date is 9-10am on the 23rd at the Sunderland Building but that is actually the time/date for the Course Info session at Academic Advice day. I think they might have gotten it mixed up...or are scaring us into attending AAD

What's Breakout1 on the timetable mean again?

Breakouts generally refer to computer classes booked a week or so before the real work actually starts that are used to give students a chance to play around with the software.

Feel free to shoot me a PM pertaining to getting to M.Eng through the Environments course, or the Envs/Eng courses in general.

You have timetables already? What's a first year dent one like?

I'm glad I don't have to actually go through the portal and register for classes in semester 1 since all I have are lectures. Whoo.

Yea our orientation day was yesterday. We've only received a hard copy and the pdf hasn't been uploaded on the LMS yet.

The timetable is pretty hectic and confusing. One of the staff liked to joke that you'll pass dentistry if you can understand first year timetable lol.

I can send you it when it becomes uploaded if you want.

Yea our orientation day was yesterday.

Lucky! Haven't heard anything about orientation dates for optometry :/
How many are in your course by the way jinny1?
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

Hey jinny1, I'm DDS1 too! Agreed about contact hours but preclinics look fun! I'm just sad for my bank account. So much money to be spent :(

i'm so excited for preclinical work as well, the virtual 3D machine in the HAPTIC Lab is so cool! :P

Yea it's not just the dental equipment costs but all the locker/key, police check, jacket and first aid course fees that i didn't anticipate :(
