Has anyone done FNCE10001 Finance 1 as a breadth subject? If so, what did you think of it?

I recommend that if you take the subject that you do not do it in semester 2. The lecturer for sem 2 sets an impossible exam(and has done for the last 2 years) and I have no doubt he will do it again this year.

I did finance 1 in semester 2, 2013 and it was good, but the lectures which always began at 8am weren't recorded.

Simpak, a question for you.

Is there much point to the (honours) orientation day? What happens? It's half a week before we start, I'd rather not fly down that early.

Thanks!

There's legit 0 point.  Not one thing said helped me whatsoever - it was the most pointless thing I have ever attended in my life.

Hey guys, just wondering is it a good idea to do ENGR10005 Engineering systems design 2, without doing ENGR10004, Engineering systems design 1???
Due  to the fact i want to major in bio-medical engineering, i have to do 2 blocks of maths, bio, and chem each that leave me with ESD2 which is a prereq and a single breadth on my first year. Yet the course adviser said a lot of ppl fail ESD2 without ESD1, but he then recommend me leave my breadth open so i only have to do 3 in the next 2 years.
So confused tbh.

I did ESD2 without 1 and I found it fine. From what I can tell, the only crossover is MATLAB and even that is retaught in ESD2.

What does it mean by "100 Level Biology subject"?

Also, are we allowed to do / is it recommended to do Level 2 subjects in our first year?

It means doing any of the first year biology subjects (BIOL1xxxx.)

You can do level 2 subjects in first year. You're supposed to have done 4 first year subjects first (50 points,) but this isn't always enforced. I would hold off doing a second year subject until second semester anyway.

I know it's quite common for people to do a level 2 breadth in second semester to get it out of the way.

Is the service and amenities fee per semester or per year?

And also,  is 'Mathematics for Biomedicine' and/or 'Experimental Design and Data Analysis' equivalent to Calc2 and Linear Algebra?

If you are entitled to HECS you can also apply for SA-HELP to defer payment of the fee

Yep you can do a level 1 subject in second year as long as you don't do more than 125 points of level 1 over your whole degree (aka, no more than 10 level 1 subjects).
