I did and it was fucking terrible man. Lesson leart: never put pracs on the same day.

As said above, the chem pracs were pretty intense because you had to do the prac and the write up at the same time. Following up with bio not much later is guaranteed to make you touch on the border of insanity

For physics 1 advanced and chemistry 1 pracs, is there a class every week, or only alternating weeks in first year?

What do you guys think of two 3 hour practicals in one day? yay or nay?
It's for CHEM10006 & BIOL10002 and I know Chem happens at varying weeks but just in case I happen to have them both on the same day I'm wondering if it'll kill me

I had my 3.5 hour CHEM20019 pracs after another 3 or 4 classes in the morning. Every time, without exception, I was completely exhausted on the way home. Now, chem oracs are more intense than 3 or 4 lectures so it'll be so much worse.

Plus, bio pracs to me weren't much fun; if you don't enjoy them, having blocks of unenjoyment when you're tired in a day isn't good.

I got a student connect appointment and on the confirmation email it says to bring all relevant information and/or required documents. Do I actually have to take anything? On the phone they didn't mention me having to bring anything

You need to take anything that is going to be relevant to the appointment. If there isn't anything, then don't take anything.

Not really to be honest! It's all just out of the textbook. Best thing really is to just practice as much as possible and try to arrange some time to talk to someone who speaks Spanish :) The more you use it, the better you get!
Wew that'd be great!

Everyone that replied 'no' to this: never attempt research.
Just got home with a splitting migraine after an 11 hour day in the lab.  Standard.  Weeeeeeee!

I actually think putting two pracs in one day is completely fine.  In third year, if you do certain subjects, you'll have 5 hour practicals.  That's only 1 hour off.  Plus, you wouldn't have the chem prac every week.  If there are no other classes in the day, I think this is completely manageable, and I would probably do it.  I once had two pracs in one day and I actually liked it...splitting lecture days with prac days and the like.

I wouldn't have your first prac experience at uni be with two pracs in one day.

It's not bad, but it's not really ideal (particularly in first year.) You do get both pracs over with in one day, so that's one extra day to study/procrastinate. Also one less day you have to come in, if you live a far way away. And yes, in third year you'll have five hour pracs in some subjects (again, really not that bad.)

And yes, in my summer job in a lab every day was an eight hour day (with the odd nine and ten hour day.) Not so bad (that said, I was getting paid.)

Anyone know where to get those unimelb vests/gilets?

Co-op used to sell them, probably still do. There was a store at the bottom of the Union building (near the noodle store,) that sold them too.

I'm not much of a fan of this "make a timetable, then have it messed with" system they've got going on.
