what happened?  ???

Last year the coordinator didn't upload a past MST for MCB from the year before. A student obtained said MST from the year above and distributed it amongst the cohort. Coordinators found out and wasn't happy as this put some people on an unfair advantage. After the actual MST, questions that were similar to the previous year were removed.

I'll add as well that some of the questions were actually the same as 2013 and the analysis of the MST results clearly showed that there were some who were performing better on those questions than they were on others on average. But it was a biiiiiig drama last year, because we're all a bit neurotic of course.

My prac report is saying that I'm expected to cite the textbook. Is this legit? I was under the impression they knew most people don't even buy books. Will I lose marks for not citing them?

"You are expected to cite your Biology textbook (Biology:an Australian focus). This reference, and any other references you cite, should be formatted in the HARVARD style."

Don't ever remember citing from the Biology Textbook.

But, if they're expecting you to do it, you should do it (just to be sure).

Don't need to buy the textbook, just search up the details on-line.

Oh, that damn assignment.

Yep, you're supposed to cite the biology textbook. Just get it from the library for the purposes of citing it.

Be super careful with formatting the citation. I lost like a third of the marks for a misplaced comma or something stupid. Pretty much all the subject reviews complain about the assignment.

Actually the sem 1 assignment was ok for me. The sem 2 assignment was absolutely BS. To this day I still hate the genetics department for that.

man, just submitted an assignment and getting back 40%+ similarities on turnitin. Check the report and my actual essay looks good but just the university cover page and refs must be making my similarities really high? Is this normal? I usually get like 10-15% on my assignments...

Yeah with a lot of references it's easy to get a high score (you can disable it counting quotes and bibliography.)

I wouldn't worry about it, if you haven't plagarised you haven't plagarised.

Random example - other day I got 40% on the assignment. When I disabled the references, it went down to 4%.
