I got 80 normal, 77 Melbourne weighted.

Never been more shocked about an exam score in my life. None of that false modesty bullshit, genuinely thought that I did terribly and then they pull that one on me.

If you want we can start calling you Dr now! That's literally a holy shit score. If you apply for the MD there is no doubt you will get in with that score.

Thanks everyone! I was pretty stoked :) Now just to decide whether or not to go for med!

By the way, would be unfair to say who, but somebody in our cohort got a 99 in the science section ended up with 82 overall. Crazy scores! :)

It's horrifying when you hear that crazy people like this are also probably applying for the MD. Jesus christ.

I unfortunately unlike all you smart people got a 59 for the GAMSAT :( Any chance for me to get into the Doctor of Optometry with a GPA of 6.3 and applying with Grad Access (financial disadvantage) ??

Hi guys, congrats on conquering GAMSAT! Just wondering, I have two identical GAMSAT overall scores from two sittings, March '14 and March '15. On the percentile curve, the '14 score is higher than '15, however when I recalculate both scores based on Melbourne weighting, my '15 score works out slightly higher numerically. Hopefully this all makes sense, but was wondering which score to use in the application process. Thanks  :)

Use your '15 results, the percentile curve is irrelevant as they only take raw score into account

What would you recommend then?

Sorry for the late reply. Wasn't so much trying to discourage Honours (it's great, even if a lot of work and quite draining.) Just be sure that you want to do Honours for it's own sake - not because you didn't get into [insert postgrad program here]. It's a lot of work, and it will suck up a lot of your life. It's also a very different experience to undergrad (better, in my opinion.) At the end of the day, it will make up a decent chunk of your GPA.

Otherwise - get a job (lol,) do a new undergrad degree (possible - you'd be able to transfer a lot of credits from a completed one,) or do a non-research focused Masters.
