I never felt like you had to memorize /every/ last detail but you actually had to be able to synthesize information for the M2M and Frontiers core subjects. Might have changed though.

If this is that Wallerian stuff, don't worry, your lecturer doesn't understand it either.

The MSTs have been testing pretty specific stuff so far, but yeah I can see that there's a large emphasis on application too. Especially when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. It's been a hard subject though, assessment wise. Harder than MCB.

Haven't come across that Wallerian stuff I think - we've talked about Parkinson's and Alzheimer's so far. Right now we've just talked heaps about lewy bodies, a-synuclein, amyloid beta and aggregation etc.

Haha - welcome to neuroscience! Heaps of lectures end like that.

I'm glad I didn't do neuroscience then  ;)

Just did the third MST for GENE20001 and no it did not have exact questions from the relevant preparation tutorials. It did have very similar questions though, and it was super easy. There are only five questions in total, all of which involve basic calculations. You will be perfectly fine with them if you are moderately comfortable with the Section 3 tutorial questions, and you should be able to have it done within 10 minutes! Good luck. :)

Also, there were no questions from Alex's lectures. Phil's only.

Thank you! I intend to sit it tomorrow. :)

Also, I can't wait to hear more about M2M and read the subject reviews about it. Given the lack of reviews, I have no idea what to expect whatsoever, and I think that out of everything this forum has helped me out with during my time at university it's been knowing what to expect as a result of the subject reviews.

Different subjects but man my third year grades have taken a hit compared to second year. I have no idea how simpak and stonecold etc smashed the hell out of bac, immuno and M2M.

Definitely feel the same way budy. I remember getting 80s-90s for assessments last year but this year has taken a large hit - 60s and 70s ... quite depressing but hoping for a miracle in the final exam.

I'm only doing 3 subjects this semester (did Finance 1 in summer instead), but next semester will be doing Techniques, Viro, Med/Applied and biomed core. Even with the lowish workload I'm stlll not doing as well as I would like to in assessment!

http://www.eng.unimelb.edu.au/study/graduate/master-eng-electrical.html

If you scroll down to "Course details" and look at the Fees for this Masters course, it has two sections

Local CSP: $8,613 per annum (2014)
Local Full fee: $29,216 per annum ($3,652 per subject) (2015)

How do I know if I'll be paying CSP or local full fee?

If you're a local student you can apply for both and based on how well you fulfil the entrance requirements you'll be allocated either a CSP or FF place.

yeah in australia all local students are guaranteed a CSP spot for undergrad, but thats not the case for post grad. you apply for both (or one) and whichever you get into, you get. in some cases people just wont be good enough to get into a CSP spot but theyll get offered a local full fee spot instead (requirements are a bit lower because less demand because you have to pay more)

Is it 65% guaranteed CSP?
