Got an email today about my orientation host group. Can't believe how quickly o-week has crept up on me. :(

speaking of finance does anyone know what wam/average across the 3 subjects  is competitive to get into honours? do they check your whole wam or do they just look at derivatives corp fi and investments?

They just look at your performance in DS/Corp Fi/Investments. I've heard you need around mid-80s to be competitive, but I'm not as sure about that.

Also, on the CADMUS thing, I just did Intro Macro over summer and we had to use that for our assignment too... bloody terrible. You even have to answer 7 minimum 50-word questions like "if you and a friend were out camping and your friend hurt their leg, how would you use first aid to help them?" to set up your account. Blimey.

Just wondering if there was a way to access exam timetables from previous years? Trying to avoid clashing exams with some important events so wanted to figure out when, roughly, they'll be  :P

Our Finance class was a guinea pig for a new uni work platform called cadmus.. which is basically a shitty online microsoft word with half the features, no image hosting (you have to source from an image host) and no ability to separate pages (it's a single, giant page)

Well guess what, I linked most of my images from an online screenshot sharer (puush) and by the time it got marked, the images expired and all my graphs/charts/data were missing, which consequently ruined the format and destroyed my marks

Part of me knows it's my own fault because I should have used a more reliable image host, the other part of me is furious that this occurred because they refused to let us submit Microsoft word documents and forced us to use a new and barely tested work platform with insufficient features for work. To compare, Word allows you to host images inside the document, eliminating any risk of image expiry.

To put salt on the wound, they even marked my assignment incorrectly. They couldn't even do basic arithmetic.

Does anyone know if this is sufficient enough to warrant a complaint or do I have nothing? I'm actually really fucking salty over this.

I did finance 1 this summer too and it was a pain!! We should have a rant session over coffee sometime

I meant for specific subjects - exam period overlaps with a performance season I've got, so it'd be nice to know roughly when my individual exams are  :)

Hm, I haven't received anything like that yet. Is there anything important on there that should make this a concern?

Zailiner-- it was just a group email from my host himself. I'm sure that you'll get one eventually, but they'd be scattered throughout the week.

For the concession student myki card, I got an email of the VPT Concession Form, but where do I take it to? The office of the university or a Metro office?

Also, for Year 12, I did the same thing and I had to pay $9 for the myki card, and I put $50 right before school ended, so that money is still in there. So the next question is, when i hand in this new form, do I need to buy another myki card for $9, and is that $50 wasted?

Btw I put $50 on it because i was tired of being paranoid whether inspectors popped out of no where, so I took my piggy bank filled with coins and got them to use.

You take it to any metro office. Not sure about the second question.

Yep, go to a metro office.

If you're talking about the actual myki card that you touch on and off with, you should just be able to keep the same one or, at the very least, transfer the money from your previous card onto a new one. But generally you just have to pay the yearly $9.00 fee for the concession card (separate id card that you have to carry with you whenever you're using the myki card).

If the card you've got at the moment is a concession one and not a child one, you should be fine to keep it though :)

does anyone know how the personality test in OB separates people into assignment groups? I wanna be in a group with my friend bc i have heard and had really bad experiences in the past with randoms.

do they group people by similiar personality type and should we pick the same answers for every q or would it be better to pick exact opposite answers? lmao why cant they just let us pick :(

I take that back, it turns out the missing info was a problem on the university's end, not the image host. So the uni was 100% at fault..

CADMUS just sucks. I feel sorry for whoever's forced to use it in the future.. I'm guessing it's going to appear in some commerce subjects this semester.

edit - also, does anyone know a good place to store your bags/etc during a wilson hall exam? or are you allowed to take them inside?
