Do you know a single person in your class? I'd just ask them.

I did it on Monday and it was "saddle" (all lower case letters), so you should try that, but perhaps it is different for different class?

Yup it's different for every class...@scarletmoon maybe post on the fb page someone in that group might've been in your class :)

Hi guys
Can anyone help me with the QM1 assignment? How did you set up the frequency distributions for Q1? I'm struggling to get them somewhat even!

got the gamsat tommorow at melbourne showgrounds! not sure if i'd be wise to arrive later than 8.30am?  I know for the last two years, it took 2 hours for us to get started on the exam.

good luck!

The password for today's 10am class was "hockey".

same for the 2 - 4pm

You need to pass your practicals to pass the subject, so that is the most important thing for you now. ILTs are not hurdle requirements, no need to pass them, however, they count as 5% towards your final grade in total. if you have done the pre-prac test and scored 80%+, then so far you have only lost a single mark, so don't worry.

All pracs are in Level 2 Biology Laboratory (Room 210) in the Redmond Barry building.

You have until 5pm today to complete the first ILT, not a hurdle but an easy 1% toward your final grade.

thanks guys, the problem is that I couldn't access the LMS until it was too late to do the ILT :/ and I'm assuming the pre-prac test is gone too

I emailed Dawn but I'm not sure what to do now or if I'll be able to do those tasks

btw isn't it weird that some of us are in the same classes but don't know each other? o.O

Does anyone feel victimised by section 1 of the GAMSAT? *Mean Girls moment*

UGH. SO GLAD it's over. It's all a blur at the moment so I'm not entirely sure how I went overall. Section 2 and 3 I'm relatively happy with. Section 1 was a dismal failure like I legitimately may have only gotten 15 questions right. Time was not on my side

How'd everyone who sat it go?

Which is more reliable; the my.unimelb timetable or https://sws.unimelb.edu.au ?
I have a tute on friday, which is clearly not running so we were told to join any alternative tute during the week
when I click 'change' on my timetable to see alternative classes, i dont see nearly as many as are displayed on https://sws.unimelb.edu.au?
do they exist?

timetable doesnt show full classes unless you click "see full timetable" in which case it should/does mirror the sws

I thought I would be dead by the end of Section I but it wasn't actually that bad. It was certainly exhausting but I was so focused and the adrenaline was rushing through so it was all over really quickly.

Section III completely owned me. Considering I winged a lot of it I didn't expect any less. Pretty content with Section I and II tho haha I really liked the topics we got this year. Anyways, congratulations to everyone who finished GAMSAT AU 2016!

I wasn't exhausted after section 1 I was just so frustrated. I felt like nothing prepared me for it. The passages were a lot more difficult and complex relative to practice material is covered and time was really flying. Guessed so many for section I do just praying my guessing skills worked.

Section II topics were good:
- for freedom of speech my main arguments for it were that freedom of speech forms communication between government of a nation and citizens to enhance a nation and lead to more social cohesion.
- I also chose to discuss how freedom of speech and the ability to accept non conformist views could lead to progression of society.

It was all a blur lol. I think if it is just a trial run that I've learnt what I need to improve and work on.

You guys, any tips and recommendations on purchasing a suit and where to purchase from? Not very rich here, so some cheap but good quality options would be nice.

The most important thing is fit! A perfect fitting suit will look way better than an expensive suit that fits ok. So make sure you shoulders fit perfectly and the rest of the suit jacket can be tailored. Obviously try find a suit that fits you the best and then take it to the tailor for fine tuning. Don't be afraid to voice what you want and what you don't like to tailors.

As for cheap and good quality, the lowest I would go is MJ Bale. They usually have deals such as 2 for $1k or 2 for $1.5k so if you can find someone to split it with it would save you so much money. Since you're doing B.Com I doubt this suit will be a one time thing so might as well invest it into a nice suit now then buying cheap suits that end up costing the same as a quality suit.

Depending on the event or occasion, you could just buy a blazer from Uniqlo (very great place for quality basics) and wear chinos. Again this depends on what type of event this is.
