It appears the lecture capture issue has been resolved, but I'm not that stupid to be overly complacent now. I've been attending a single lecture on Mondays for the past three weeks out of lack of faith in the lecture capture system. Should I go or stay home tomorrow? ... Now that is the question. :S

Try using the University VPN or connect while on-campus.

Yeah i've actually got a similar question too.

Has anyone been in a relationship, then subsequently went on exchange and are able to comment on how that went :)

its generally great because you can hang out as much or as little as you like. + if things do not go well, you dont have to see them everywhere like in high school.   you can avoid them to the point you never see them again if it turns out badly. although be careful if youre doing the same subject because on exam day (especially midsems) you might run into your ex that hates you and it will be very awkward and throw you off your game HAHA
so my advice is if you like someone ask them out after the exam has happened LOL #truestory #learnfromamoderatorsmistakes

i know a couple that did it and it was fine. i think general long distance relationship sort of rules apply here.
4-5 months isn't an insurmountable period of time if youve been going out for years or it is a very serious relationship

These days I think you have to access that page from the uni network, i.e do it on-campus or use the VPN (http://studentit.unimelb.edu.au/findconnect/vpn)

Anyone else find that after first year, you tend to get less help with things? (especially assignments)
I knew expectations would be higher but wow

In truth, they probably give you too much help in first year. Uni is, in many ways, about finding your own feet. It's confronting to start off with, but the sense of being able to rely on yourself without really having to rely on the teaching staff is empowering, not to mention a useful skill when it comes to postgraduate degrees and/or employment.

I think this is testified by the fact that I have virtually NO tutorials, and practicals are like twice throughout the entire semester :/

how lenient is UoM in regards to word limits in regards to assignments.
The word limit of a question was 200. I wrote 213 words.
