Hey,
Just wondering when does timetabling open for the summer semester?
Should be early December. The 2017 timetable is being released on 25th November, so it should at least be sometime after that.

On another note, we finally got a response regarding the evacuation last Thursday. In my subject (MAST20022) each student is being given the choice to (a) have the original script marked as-is; or (b) sit a new exam (also during the exam period) and have the original script ignored. Overall it's probably the best solution: some students were going to have to compromise anyway, but at least now everyone can make their own decision.

Did anyone else hear back about other subjects that were disrupted by the evacuation?

Yeah, my coordinator is just going to adjust for the time lost, so mark the papers as is then give everyone extra marks. I think most people were happy with that, especially since it's a third year subject and people are graduating in December so don't really want to have to resit exams in the supplementary exam period as that would delay graduations. There are only 8 people in my subject so there's probably a lot more flexibility than with some of the larger subjects.

Applying to subjects through the CAP is a nightmare - it should be a simple process yet I have to provide proof I passed year 12 even though I've finished a year here?

Despite the much flaunted reputation of this uni, the IT/admin department is atrocious at times.

Didn't the exact same thing happen for the HSF MST? If so, that's bloody awful, but they could just remove it as a question altogether, yeah?

You can sometimes get automatically asked for things you don't need to supply. I was asked for a transcript despite graduating from UoM in the past and when I emailed them, they agreed I didn't need to provide one.

for the mst at least we learnt about the 2 questions before although they were not in one of the topics that were supposed to be assessed in the mst. yea i felt the exam was terribly put together. i'm hoping they will remove the irrelevant questions...

It's asking me "yes" or "no" questions about my prior tertiary experience when it simply doesn't apply to me. The thing is that lots of the form has mandatory requirements to fill out, so I literally am unable to get through this stage of the process.

To be fair, the 2nd HSF exam was rather different to past exams, but apart from the first page or so, I think it was pretty doable from first principles. Sure it was almost 50% of pharm stuff, but that stuff was covered in the lectures e.g. α1, β1, β2 adrenoceptors. Different types of antagonism were also covered. This exam had topics 4, 5, 6 - pharm was part of these topics.

BIOM20002 was supposed to be different this year. It doesn't sound like it. We had one question last year on pharmacology that we didn't really cover in our course, but apparently it was done in PHRM20001. Whatever. <_<

On the bright side, as frustrated as I was with BIOM30001, I'd say that BIOM20002 was worse. In that way, the worst subject in the degree is over for you guys. :)

Not BIOM30002, BIOM20002. I would never dare offend the supergod Helen Cain.
