Summer school classes finish in one week and exams begin the next. Ie; worst case scenario you will finish class on a Friday and have an exam the Monday 3 days later

Hi LeftRightGG,

I took Linear Algebra over the summer this year. We finished the course on a Wednesday (we sat our MATLAB test in our last computer class) and then the exam was 9 days later on the Friday. But it varies from year to year.

It's possible you may finish on a Monday in 2017 (i.e. 5 days later) since you miss out on the first Monday of the course due to the New Year's Day holiday.
Currently studying at the University of Melbourne.

in regards to summer intensives, do they have all of the same content that the subject would if you did it in the normal semester? So crazy to do the exam a few days later if that's the case

Anyone who's done summer subjects,  are the results usually up pretty quickly? Or does it vary a lot between subjects (I'm guessing this is the case)? I'm doing a summer subject to complete my course and I'm hoping to head straight into a postgrad course, but I'm suspecting the results may be finalised too late for semester 1 entry. I saw that summer subjects release results within 20 working days but I'm hoping it's usually earlier rather than closer to the 20 days. :p

Oh okay thanks
Thought it may have been more competitive seeing how both biomed and scie kids take it

It's a pretty big cohort! But that isn't to say only aim for 65! Try your best and you'll be right.

Can I just enrol into one subject first on my study plan or do I need to fill up 50 credit points to be considered as re-enrolled for next year? :/ Deadline is 9th Dec but I won't have time to look into subjects until after then...
Pls do not send me a pm about Aspire applications. The process has vastly changed since I applied.

So for re-enrolment we need to have at least 3 subjects enrolled for both semesters, is that right? I've enrolled in 3 both semesters I think, but those may change...

So I've just looked at the timetables for next year, and there's a lecture clash between principles of genetics and chem: reactions and synthesis - I figure it'll be okay, but does anyone who's done both have any insight?

Usually all lectures are recorded anyway so you'll be fine, unless your subjects have a lecture attendance requirement of some kind (like human phys or research based phys) and even then you are only required to attend 50% of lecs. You could always just attend half of each and watch the rest online.
