Is anyone doing DVM? Any idea what sort of GPA would be good?
General consensus is at least 80 (weighted 75:25 towards 2nd year for undergrads, 3rd year for graduates) is the minimum to be considered for a CSP, probably 75 up for a full fee :)  They do take experience into consideration (more agricultural than RSPCA etc) but only a little bit. You're also guaranteed a full fee place if you had an ATAR between 95-98.5 and a CSP if you had an ATAR over 98.5 (I think), but this is for undergrads only :)

Does anyone know how many calculators are for loan at the REB or is everyone trying to get one so they all run out? Because I really don't want to spend $30 on a new calculator just for a single exam. This new calculator policy is bullshit.

On a similar topic to the one above, did anyone else find the intro micro exam really hard (especially C1, and some of the MC questions) ? :( Any chance they would ever scale an intro micro exam, or am I stuffed? My average for assignments was literally exactly 80%, tute participation should have been good as I went to every class, answered/asked questions ect, but I'm not sure I'll even scrape a 50% for hurdle requirement? Thanks
Yeah I found it really difficult, timing was a major issue for me. I left out B1 which was worth 10 marks I think  :-\ Praying for a pass
15'/16' VCE - 96.55
17'- Bachelor of Commerce (University of Melbourne)

They have to scale it up, that was ridiculously hard compared to the practise stuff he gave us rip. Even section b2 was cooked lol

out of interest what did you guys put for the last bit of the food truck question? I thought it was relatively simple (a repeat of part b with different values) then I thought through what it asked and I'm pretty sure I changed my answer at the last minute to something wrong

Yeah mate the wording was 100% cooked. I put $100 for the last bit but I think general consensus is you use part c) to get $80... which is a repeat of part b) with different values..
Was sitting on like 38/40 before the exam, I think I passed so w/e will take a H2A gladly at this point

Also.. $100 burgers??? I thought it was wrong lol this ain't Vue De Monde

Has anyone done/is doing principles of marketing and knows what the format of the exam is? I had to miss the last tute and have no idea what the exam will be like-  i.e essay/short essays/short answer questions.

Woooah. JC, that's incredibly high. I didn't think it would be that difficult to get into...

Yeah unfortunately it's a pretty popular course, so they can afford to be a bit choosy!!

I wonder how they will scale it? Are they going to give everyone extra marks for the exam section or are they just going to add to the overall subject score as a whole?

Had absolutely no idea how to do the end of C1, just said it was the same as part b -- I poured all my time into figuring out B2 and got close to proving it was a tax in C2 but had no time left... the exam was impossible.

Yeah I was doing all this logical deduction about what the sunk costs were and costs she faced at which point in time, so I ended having 80 originally but I switched to 100 because she still faced the other cost or something.

But yeah I think since the exam is a hurdle they might bump the exam scores up a bit, because I'm sure their fail right is going to be so high relative to previous years. Exam was fucked full stop lol

Yeah honestly in light of everything that's happened this semester, I'm just feeling super blessed.

I'm sure it'll turn out very well for all of us ^_^

Do you know if there are any pre req subjects like in med. I can't find any information online besides the fact that you need to do the Animal Health and Disease major. My friend is going to try and apply from a different uni.

From the DVM website:
(Graduate entry): 'Completion of a science degree or an agriculture degree with completed studies in each of biology and biochemistry.'
There are heaps of grads who have done lots of different things before applying, so you can literally do anything as long as you've done some biology and biochemistry :)

I found this page really useful

Hey guys just finished really weighty semester (barely survived tbh) and I’m hoping to get ahead next for next semester so I can take subjects with similar difficulty.
That being said, if anyone has recently done PHRM20001 and has any lectures or recordings at all it would be a massive help. PM me or send me an email at [...] cheers  8)

Just to let you know, it's a bad idea to put your email in a public post like that - it's just begging to get spammed.

For two years I've studied for the gamsat and hoping to apply to an interstate uni for med or dent. now my parents tell me that even i make it in, they can't afford for me to go interstate. I'd always thought centrelink money would be enough, but apparently not. I'm really down right now. All my hard work down the drain!  I have a gamsat score of 73, but gpa of 6.29, and was hoping to apply to  UQ and University of Sydney. Now all hope is lost, and it's out of my control  :'( :'(
