Not the graph, read the "score range" below grades

Ahaha it depends on the chief examiner. For instance, the chief examiner for bio is very very very very harsh. Chief examiner for chem was quite the opposite. In fact, chief examiner for chem rubbished the IR multi-choice qn, saying it was a ridiculous qn and he never taught his class that, nor will he ever. But because it was a multi-choice question, the exam writers have the final say.

I wish they would scrap the IR question, it was the kind of thing that you'd only know if you'd read the heinemann textbook religiously, most people who got it right would've guessed, which kind of defeats the purpose of the exam, which is to evaluate our knowledge and comprehension,  not to check whether we had memorised a somewhat arbitrary fact that not many teachers taught their students.

Edit: wow that's a really long sentence

And if thushan had no idea, then clearly it was way out of the scope! It should've followed the NMR where you don't need to know how it works, just be able to interpret the results.

Yeah, one of the last MC Qs. It asked which factor contributes most to the position of a bond's wavenumber...

Just want to say, I love you Chemistry Examiners, you people are so kind to us. Thankyou for not hating on us students.

A+ for 85% is generous :)
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

They just pick the mark that gives a statistical distribution with ~10% of students scoring A+. Don't thank the examiners, thank everyone who did worse than you on the exam ;)

Edit: In fact, only 9% of students got A+, meaning the examiners erred on the less generous side.

sorry, but this might be a noobish question , but how do u read the graph and know A+ cut-off is roughly 85%?

Note the Mark range, eg. A+ was 123-144, the exam was out of 72. So if you half it, its 61.5 - 72 which is 85.42%
