So, if ALL schools are giving out to their students results from mid-year exams.. then I'm going to know that I probably got a really low score on my Physics exam AND I have a SAC - which I'll probably fail, since it's first thing up on a Monday morning.

This is going to be great  :D

Ill be fidgeting all day and wont be able to concentrate! :0 ah well, at least im not one of those people who get it mailed to them the next day - that would frustrate the hell out of me x)  @azure, that would acxtually be alrite, it would keep my mind off getting results and be less suspenseful :p

I'm from NSW and we've just had our 'trial exams'.

My predictions:

English Advanced: 80% :(
Mathematics: 100%
Mathematics Extension 1: 100%
Mathematics Extension 2: 90%
Physics: 95%
Chemistry: 95%

When do you find out how you went? And what exactly do the trial exams count for? I did ask one of my NSW friends, but he had trouble explaining it to me...

Our trials aren't regulated like VCE mid-year exams, they are done by the school however most schools purchase their exams written by 3rd party companies so I guess different schools can compare.

They are marked by our own school teachers so when we get our results depends on how lazy the teacher is lol, maths is usually quick to mark so I might get my results within a few days (or maybe a few hours after the actual exam lol), English takes the longest, maybe a week or two.

As for weighting, I'm not sure how it works in Victoria but in NSW our HSC mark is composed of 50% external exam mark and 50% internal school assessment marks, trials typically count for 40% of the assessment marks.

In Victoria it depends on what subject you do and if you have mid years. Correct me if im wrong i think classes with mid years each exam is 33% of your total make and then you school work is 33% overall. Other subjects with only one exam its 50% of your mark is from your exam and 50% Is from school assessed course work 25% from unit 3 and 25% from unit 4. And Arts are a whole different story. Im not sure how they work but most of there marks are heavily based on their folios.
If I made a mistake feel free to correct me this was a brief explanation from my teachers.
