OK I am currently having a war against myself and procrastination. Here's what I've done:

  • Entrusted my Facebook account to someone. (I don't know the password now)
  • Uninstalled all my games, MSN, Skype, etc.
  • Removed all bookmarks from browser.
  • Changed Windows Theme to Windows 98 and wallpaper to plain black.
  • Made my computer on startup automatically open my PDF reader with all textbooks loaded.

Ironically, this very forum is also a major distraction, and its my homepage as well...sigh...ATARNotes is like a double-edged sword...it can be a horrible distraction but also a valuable resource...
Hopefully my productively will increase heaps from this :D

wow that's dedication. i might try that out.
:D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D

This Chrome extension is pretty good.

You set a list of blocked websites and then you can configure a daily time limit for each website (and also set what days/time period to block those websites).

Just out of curiosity, does deactivating Facebook TOTALLY erase your account?

Are you able to 'reactivate' your account and ultimately come back to the same account (i.e. same statuses, same friends, same wall and posts, etc.)?

The Stay Focused extension is my love atm. 1 essay down this morning, another and a 40minute oral to go. without chrome, I would still be on Facebook at 7.00 tonight, with nothing completed haha.
Always here to help!

You see, in the future you can avoid this by not playing bad games ;)

I managed to rack up a 15-20 day /played in a few months when WOTLK was released. Funtimes.

It's been a week since I've created this thread and started my war against procrastination.

This is what I have achieved:
  • Finished Spesh course (completed last 3 chapters)
  • Finished Chem course (completed sulfuric acid and AOS 2)
  • Finished Physics course (completed sound)
  • Read my texts for English (finished Spies and halfway through Richard III)
  • Finished Dr He homework for Methods and Spesh

I have also developed an addiction for ATARNotes. Not sure if this is good or bad. Seriously I've been checking unread posts hourly but so far its the only form of procrastination so it should be ok!

And then I checked my email a few minutes ago and I got a screenshot of Dota 2 gameplay: http://i.imgur.com/pDSSw.jpg
