A+?
« on: August 10, 2011, 08:52:45 pm »
Is it possible that VCAA have stuffed up the grading?

I'm just remembering what I did for the exam.. And i remember that i got a lot of questions wrong but still ended up with an A+? When most of my friends who were really confident in getting A+ didnt..

would getting a statement of marks change this??

Feeling the same way... Need to know if getting the SoM will stuff me over before I send the application for it tomorrow.
Off the top of my head, I remember losing 5 marks in MCQ and 6 marks for Q4 (didn't get a) OR b) )... 61/72 :P.

My teacher marks the exams and she said that those who assumed a 1:1 ratio for question 4 about the phosphorus only lost 1 mark for it, not the full 4 marks

what if you wrote a ratio that wasn't 1:1 and got 120% as your answer :P?
is that 0/4 marks?

and since your teacher was the examiner, did he/she say anything about the caffeine question?

I feel the same. Just faxed off the application for SoM a few hours ago to VCAA.

We'll see the grades in a few weeks hey? I'd be very surprised if I was more than 2 marks above the cut-off for A+... seriously.

I pretty much messed up in the same way as vea, bar q4 (though I can't remember exactly)

so, are you guys saying that applying for SoM is worth it?
I really want to find out the mark I got but the possibility of demotivating me ... stops me

Not sure what will happen if you assumed like a 1:2 ratio, but I doubt that you would lose all four marks. I'd have to ask some time tomorrow.

And nah she didn't. What was wrong with the caffeine question?

I have the same feeling 4 physics...except in a very bad way
according to the results on itute plus my teachers results i shoul haeve only lost a max of 10 marks which is supposed to be an A+, but i got a B+
im gonna order a SoM for physics...but i think i deserve the B that i got 4 chem

Even though I expected a higher mark, I highly doubt VCAA screwed up.

We'll all have to wait for our SoMs for confirmation.

I too feel that VCAA might have stuffed something up. After the exam I counted up about 5-7 mistakes and in the end it seems I lost more than this.
