thanks tony...
you know the shit thing is when you look at your statement and think wtf why did i lose marks there....its really frustrating. :/

Yeah I lost the dumbest mark ever. I got 1/6 for the super easy motion question (Q11) about calculating her apparent weight at the bottom of the circle. I learnt from my mistake though. Always set aside time to double check your paper! I just realised half of the marks I lost would have been avoided if I didn't spend 30 minutes thinking of that stupid block question (Q7) (which I didn't change my answer and got full marks for anyway) and use that time to double check! 30 minutes!

That bloody block question... Thought it was too easy and spent like 15 mins on it.

i liked that block question, it was quite easy if you've gone through the mechanics chapter in specialist maths, i dont think they teach you how to work with forces properly in physics

it's in sight, but it could depend on how the end of year exams turn out, ideally, if the end of year exams are HARD, you'll end up beating back those who beat you here, so you have the chance for a 50, but if the end of year exams turn out easy, and most of the people who beat you are able to equal you, you'll end up with a 45+ study score, but not a 50 (:

To be very, very blunt, even if you get 100% on the end of year exam, it's incredibly unlikely - it'd have to be a very difficult exam. I've heard of people losing 3 or so marks in a moderately difficult year; I think -1 was the limit in my year. If it's an average exam, you're probably looking at high 40s, and if it's an easy exam, you might be looking at mid 40s... even with 100%.

Ahk. What about an 86? Given A+ was 78/90?
(LOL got jibbed on one qn according to physics examiner teacher - but we already discussed this)

i still think the a+ cutoff was extremely low this year, meaning hard exam, hopefully end of year is just as hard then

Gahh, got 77/90 1 mark off A+, pissed off cause i know i should of gotten A+, stuffed up 5 questions in multiple choice... paniced at the end.

anyway, if my sacs are like within the top 4 of my school (95%+) what score would i roughly need at the end of year to get low 40's? any guesses? im really stressed..

it depends on the strength of your cohort

considering that you go to dandy, you have quite an average-strong cohort compared to many other schools in victoria
to get above 40, you'll really need to get a high A+ for the end of year exam, so im guessing 86+/90

no one got 90/90. Chief examiner teaches at my school. He said that the highest was 89.5 or something
