Congrats thushan, Luke, jdog and tiktok! Good luck for interviews =)
On the other hand, anyone have a plan b that you'd like to share with me please? Indecisive now that monash is out of the picture for me. =|
Firstly, try not to give up on VCE, even though continuing on will seem pointless.
You have some options. None of them are particularly flattering but you have to consider them.
-Get a 99.90+ ATAR and then either Monash or Melbourne are likely to take you
-Depending on your UMAT mark, ATAR and medical school preferences, your score may still be good enough for entry into less recognized unis. This of course depends on whether you are willing to move interstate.
-Get a 99+ ATAR and go to unimelb where you will have a guaranteed FFP (200k) post grad med spot. This is subject to passing an interview and maintaining a 75+ average in either biomed or science.
-Again, if you are looking to go interstate, JCU and Griffith do not use UMAT
-Take a gap year and resit the UMAT to try again for Monash
-Start Science/biomed, then resit UMAT and you can try and transfer into med at certain unis. Monash does not however allow this.
-Otherwise, you have to take either science or biomed, get a good GPA, a good GAMSAT mark, do well on an interview and be considered for post grad med at Melb/Deakin Geelong/Monash Gippsland or some other uni interstate.
Sorry if it seems confronting, but those are your options.
