I was seriously considering Monash to do Commerce/Engineering....

But since my ENTER is not in the mid 90's, then what's the point?

Besides, I got a scholarship to Melbourne Uni so that decides it for me!

Even tho melb uni is the only one that offers actuarial as a major, u can still do like a commerce degree in another uni and move on to actuary eventually, isn't it? That said, of course it's better if u get into melb right at the start. I'm fairly confident u will lol =D

heh, sounds like my friend talking to our careers advisor in yr12.
"well i see that arts/law at UMelb is your first choice, and you have a couple of others too. but your lowest preference still has an ENTER requirement of 90. have you thought about putting in a safety net of a lower course?"
his reply: "uhhh... i don't think i'd go to uni if i got below 90."
"what would you do then?"
"i think i'd kill myself."

I can't imagine not going to Uni... I would be terrible doing some Tafe course as I have a terrible lack of skills that are needed for Tafe courses that can later lead to trade jobs, i.e. no hand-eye co-ordination, couldn't sell something, have no mechanical skills, etc.

Although... I could see myself vegging out on the couch watching cricket all summer after yr 12. But I know my mum would try to make me get a job

But, definitely Uni - maybe at Melbourne (although I'm not sure about their new model) or maybe at the ANU. Definitely not at Monash as I have a prejudice against it, along with Deakin, VU, Swinburne, RMIT, and all the other small Uni's/Tafe centres.... my snob side is emerging. Or perhaps I've just been taught to aim high...
