Can anyone tell me if this is a redox equation?

Today in chem my teacher told me that the equation

2KCl3 --> 2KCl + 3O2 wasn't a redox because it doesn't break down or something...don't know what she meant..

Anyway I had a look on the internet and I found lots of threads/forums saying that its a redox? My chem teacher is really experienced so I don't know if she's wrong or not.. :-\

EDIT: oh no woops! It is 2KClO3 --> 2KCl + 3O2 sorry my bad  :-\

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but where did the oxygen come from. Did you mean KClO3?

Yes, it's a redox eqn since Cl in KClO3 is reduced from +5 to -1 in KCl and O2 is oxidised from -2 in KClO3 to 0 in O2

Is there any reason why my teacher would think it was not a redox?

She was pretty adamant that it wasn't and she's known for being a really good chem teacher at our school.

There definitely is a change in oxidation state going from chlorate(V) to chloride.

Asked my chem teacher again about the equation...and she said it was a redox.
