Just did Exam 2 - 76/80.

Gotta say it was a fairly interesting exam - surprised at how few careless errors I made.
Lost a mark on MC Q21 (sigh.), 4b) (sigh.) and 2 on the last question (dunno why I kept getting no solution T_T)
Also, finished with like 1 minute to spare, which is worrying because nerves will easily force me to take an extra 10 mins on the real exam.

Having said that, in comparison to the methods 2010 kilbaha exam 2, I'd say the spesh one was slightly easier.

Quick question guys, on average how long is it taking you to do any spesh exam 2's? I'm always between 1hour 45 mins to 1 hour and 59 mins (no joke). I feel I need to speed up a little but I'm not sure if it is just me or the exam.

Depends; Kilbaha 2010 took me best part of 1 hour 50 mins, but VCAAs generally take me <1 hour. Try going a little quicker; you'll find that all the qns are the same -> say 15 minutes per extended response qn?

I haven't timed my VCAA exams, but I am sure it takes me over 1 hour to do them! I am in awe of your speed right now.

Out of curiosity, how much time did you have left in methods exam 2 last year? ( I only had 20-30 mins from memory).
Please don't tell me you finished that in less than an hour too :o

In the real thing - you would undoubtedly beat me, since you had 10 mins left.

Also, note that I did this under complete exam conditions. i.e. I gave myself reading time etc. (which would have saved me time overall)

Thushan, do you finish the MC in like 15minutes or something?? It usually takes me like 30-35 minutes for VCAA ones :( ...

Which company exams should i do first? I've only done VCAA Exam 2s and Exam 1s and a whole lot of random Exam 1s.
Should i do kilbaha? or just go with mav? I mean i want something that will give me confidence and at the same time give me a good learning experience. I was thinking of just doing kilbaha so then maybe ill be able to put up with anything crazy VCAA throw at us...

I still haven't done any VCAA exams yet :(

And I have methods as well...

But seriously just do VCAA and leave the rest for recreational purposes. I'm going to do 2002-2010 which is what they have on their website. That's what Derrick Ha recommended :P

Personally, I only had 2 minutes left and only got 37/40.
Just did it then, 38/40 with 7 minutes to spare....

Lost one on 6b and one on 9ii (STUPID), but overall a good exam, playing about every trick in the book haha

PS luffy and tush, how did you guys go about doing 6b? the way the solutions suggested? I've just never seen it done that way, but then again I hate complex numbers :P

Well, my method was very similar to the solutions for 6b). For those of you who haven't done the exam, don't look below.

Note: I originally got this question wrong. For some reason reason, in the second last line, I subtracted pi/2 from pi/8. Yeah... I make the silliest of errors sometimes. While I did realize the mistake before checking the solutions, I subtracted the mark anyway.
