It's a personal decision. Bear in mind that you can skip most lectures and listen to them online, so if I have a single lecture on friday afternoon, I tend to not go and lectopia later.

Don't think Chinese 2E and Accelerated Maths 1 are Lectopia enabled so it seems I have to go everyday. But I heard that Maths at Uni is pretty much self-study and since 80% of the assessment is from the final exam I think I could skip one or two if I decide to sleep in. But I'll still have to go to Uni though since I have other subjects...seriously is it just me or are subjects at Melbourne really inflexible?

Anyways I remade my timetable...just realised I might die if I use my initial one LOL

Ask the ss, I didn't even think about this.  But I think it should be fine - maybe you have to do 50 pts of anything to progress, or maybe it's just the jump from 2nd to 3rd level?

Students must complete a minimum of 50 points of study at one year-level before proceeding to the next year-level.

Yup, you'll need to complete at least 4 Level 2 subjects before proceeding to Level 3 subjects

They probably didn't even realise. But I mean it also said last year that you had to take at least one IDF in first semster, but when you talked to them they said it was just a recommendation. With most Arts subjects it probably doesn't make that much difference whether you take things in second or third year, so I'd just enrol in it, but ask your student centre if you're unsure.

I'm fairly sure they won't realise and will just let you do it.

Edit: does anyone know what time re-enrollment opens tomorrow?  Will it be best to enroll in quota subjects as soon as it opens?  I've never enrolled in a subject with a limit on the number of students before.

Okay thanks Alex :)

Honestly I think it's open now but I'm not 100% sure - if you go to the enrol thing it lets you get in :S Haven't tried further though.

Nah the enrollment dec. is open but if you try to search for subjects (without keywords at all, just pressing 'search' which usually gives all subjects) it says none are available.  And I have a feeling that even if things did come up, it would try to enroll you for 2011 instead of 2012.  At least that is what happens to me, perhaps someone else should try.

Quota will be based on academic marks, so enrol whenever

Hmm okay thanks heaps for that! The handbook made it sound like a non-negoatiable. I'm definitely going for it :)

An average above 80 should be more than enough to get someone into Techniques in Molecular Science right?

Anything above a H3 average and you SHOULD comfortably get in. My friend e-mailed the subject co-ordinator Leon.H.

Anything above a H2A (both biomed chem and science chem 1 + 2) is a GUARANTEED spot into Techniques
