what do they want when they ask for the difference in which the Us and Australias approach for the constitutional protection of democratic and human rights?\

do we give one expressed right of Australia and then say, whilst the US has a bill of rights for example, one of their rights is..

because the exam assoesement report said 'Students should have used examples to illustrate this or referred to
cases (for example, the Roe v Wade abortion case).'

I think it's just asking the differences in the systems or methods by which AUS and USA protect their people's rights, and how they intepret and enforce the law in accordance with those rights?? :-\

I dont know LOL but I'm choosing New Zealand for the exam because it's sooo similar to Australia! :) (but wanted to know, are there any disadvantages in doing New Zealand?? Most of my friends are doing USA and it's making me a tad bit worried :-\)

Whilst Australia's Constitution does have entrenched rights, it is not as comprehensive as the Constitution of the United States of America, which has a constitutionally entrenched Bill of Rights, protecting a wide variety of rights such as freedom of expression and the right to bear arms; Australia's Constitution only has a very limited amount entrenched rights.
Law is a kind of justice. It is not perfect justice, it is only a kind of justice.

It doesn’t matter what country you do; no country is easier or harder than another. When you’re asked to compare the approach Australia takes in protecting rights with another country, you should show similarities and differences between the two countries. I’d expect this sort of question to be on this year’s exam, seeing as it has been on nearly every other year since 06’.

EPL, what unit do you think will be focused on for the 10 marker this year?? :)

Unit 4. Partially because all the 10-mark questions I’ve seen have mainly been on Unit 4. It’s hard to know what to expect in all honesty. I don’t know if VCAA will combine Unit 3 and Unit 4 into one question; I couldn’t think of any, though I’m expecting it to be difficult - to separate students.

I believe the 10 mark question will be on the Constitutions approach to the protection of rights; where you have to discuss the methods used to protect rights and evaluate its approach.
