So, first period most people did nothing, then went home and wrote their piece. Last period - hand in what they wrote at home.

What.
WHAT.

At my school, you're not allowed to take anything into the sac. You're only allowed to 'think about it' at home.
Taking SACs home... is that even allowed?

WHAT!
All our SACS were done in test conditions. Although for some, we were allowed a quote sheet.

WHAT IS ALL THIS BIZNIZ WITH TAKE HOME SACS? "Hi, I'd like to order an English SAC, take away, grilled not fried. How much is it to upgrade to 100%?"

We did each SAC in one sitting.

LOL a quote sheet, that's ridiculous, the majority of schools (including mine) have sacs under sac conditions :S

Anyway, to those who did the YOW prompt relating to Anna and the villagers' choices, is it wrong to do a paragraph on Anna because essentially you still have to explore the quote right? Also, I reasoned that their reactions are in comparison to Anna's and so we needed to set the precadent for a comparison etc

On the waterfront prompts were really do-able :). I ended up doing Text Response first (even though I'd gone in with a plan to do lang anal first) because it was so good =D

Did the second of the two although could have done the first. Thought second was slightly easier.

Yeah, in retrospect the second one would have had more to write because it's more general, but all in all, I liked both of the OTW topics this year :)

I was NEVER allowed a quote sheet, and all of our sacs were separated tables, exam conditions.
No bringing anything in or out, my school has it's own response booklets PRINTED OUT.

It's like being in the military. It sucks to know some people got it easier.

And yeah. So, Twelve Angry Men, hey? *tumbleweed*

I did Twelve Angry Men! I wrote on the first topic... most people seem to have chosen the second.

How many pages did everyone write?

I wrote 5 for everything so 15 all up - but I found that the spaces were bigger/there were less lines so that's probably why I wrote more than I usually do...
I seriously don't know how you write that much and keep it quality (I'm not saying you don't I believe you can do that jane1234 (and others) I just cannot work out how you do it). I had 2,3,3 for me, I'm worried :( - I don't even think my text reponse related to the question, well maybe one paragraph did.

What happens if u wrote your essay plan on the first page of lined paper of the answer book rather than in the rough work only side? and started the essay on the next page?
Nt sure if i make any sense..
is there anything wrong with doing that

A Farewell to Arms prompts were rather simple and cliched, I was expecting something far more ambiguous

I agree! I did the second prompt (anti-war novel one) and found that I had to stretch my ideas out a bit to demonstrate my knowledge towards Hemingway's existentialist philosophy etc. But all is good, I wrote 7 pages at the end. Good seven pages, too.

AFTA? Rather predictable questions, much easier than last year's. Would've preferred last year's ones though.
