Good as, found it pretty straightforward, although the last part of the last question took me a while. Got 19 + 3 root 5 for the length, swear that was worth more than 1 mark -.-

i think a lot of people overdid the question O_O or is it just me? i thought all u had to do was sub in the a = 3root 5 into the L equation. at first i also thought, seems hard, but then looked at it and it was only worth 1 mark which led me to the conclusion that u only need to sub it in. cause they dont tell you what theta is unless u took it from the previous question..
Yes but it is asking for the maximum L, so you had to take it from the previous questions didn't you, when dl/dtheta =0?
im not the best at maths so im not really sure..but that could also be working out the minimum true? im not sure though. thats why im also looking on the forums D:

Fark, I think this guy has a point. Maybe L is maximum if theta=pi/4 cause thats like the middle, SHIT.
wait so r u guys saying we had to use theta=pi/4 .....FML.....would explain why it was worth 1 mark

Nope sadly not.

Nope, because you need 3 Heads = 2 heads and a tail

Nah you can't have tails on both sides.

Nah you can't have tails on both sides.
but why not? its a logical answer.. they cant not accept it.

if a coin is biased, then it can obviously be biased enough so that it never lands on head.

That's what I thought too, I put p=0 as well.
