for the probability question
if you started the equation by saying Integral from 3.5 - 2 blah blah blah
but throughout all your working out you stupidly worked out 3.5 - 0
would i get any marks

ovasly both my answers were wrong as for
a) i got 3/8
b) 1 ovasly wrong haha

would i get anymarks?

wait for the second last questoin, would u still get marks if you subbed BC=2CD into ur derivate and shows it equals to zero???

I don't see why not. It was an 'if' question and not a 'show that' question so I suppose we're allowed to use the supplied values. (I hope! As   I also subbed in. :S)

It was a hence question, isn't that what we were supposed to do? How did everyone else do it?

crap, for qn 4a, did you have to state what c and d equaled? I just left it in the square root from

Would I loose marks if I said that p cannot equal zero because 0<p<1 when in fact p can equal 0 or 1?

Don't think p can equal zero as they flipped two heads one tail.

wait did we have to say c=2, d=8 OR c=8, d=2
or just one of those?

I'm pretty sure both were acceptable as there was no other information given about c and d. For example if c>d or d>c.

Don't think p can equal zero as they flipped two heads one tail.
no they didnt.. they asked you to calculate the probability in terms of p.

if p=0 then the pr of getting 3 heads is 0
and the probability of getting 2 heads and tail is also 0. thus it makes perfectly good sense.
