i think MC is pretty do able. i couldnt do the last question though, completely forgot about change of base. so what was the answer for that one?
and extended questions are pretty hard. i dont think i got the last probability question right! and question 3 was alright. what did you guys get for the possible values of m (number of stationary points) for the cubic function and its inverse?
tasmania jones question was killer. the first few parts was alright, but i couldnt do the last two questions. how do you guys do the second last one? the question about the value of k if she reached the river at (1,0). do you just substitute x=1 into the T equation? i got a linear equation in terms of k and i have no idea how to get the minimum time from a linear equation :(

Did anyone get 0.4103 for part 2e? I'm not sure about that one.

Exam content aside...did anyone dislike the time slot for the exam 11:45 -2pm. A bit early for lunch, and once you were done A) it was kinda late for lunch and B) YOU WERE IN NO MOOD FOR LUNCH, CAUSE YOU WERE ALLZ CRYING.
having lunch right now and watching scrubs whilst on vcenotes, pondering what the world would be like if there were no indiana jones.
would vcaa just use batman? i would have loved that

I have a curious question, why is Tasmania Jones building a Desalination plant for tribal people. On a river. Aren't rivers usually fresh water?

Yes is that the last part of the chocolate one. I got that. Did you take it as a given problem??

For some reason people seem to downvote anyone who says the exam was easier than last year. That's pretty immature.

To be honest, I agree. Definitely tricky parts in the paper, but I think 2007 and 2010 were still harder. I'm a pretty average methods student as well.

I think that it was a med-hard exam, but it took longer (but that may have just been me stressed under exam conditions).

For Q1 part a, was it correct to say
dV/dT= -t^2/5 => V(T)=-t^3/15+C
since V=6075 at t=0, constant is 6075. Solving V(t)=0 gives t=300 or something..?

+Yes, totally agree. Not enough time, and I wanted lunch by the end :P

lol crap i just made (t^2)/5 = 6075 and solved for t XD

I got t = 45?

Using L for the amount of litres that have leaked out:

dL/dt = t^2/5
L = t^3/15 + c
t = 0, L = 0
L = t^3/15 = 6075
t = 45

got that as well. but not sure if its right though. a friend of mine told me that the probability that it takes more than 3 seconds for choc A and B should be multiplied by 1/2.
