yeah i seperated at the start but got a different answer to itute..

maybe i stuffed up my partial fraction.. i got A=B=1/6?

I got something different from itute also. Yes, A and B =1/6. I got something like ln(x+3/3-x)/6 + ln(9-x^2)/2
Didn't simplify to have one log

@jane1234: Now I can't remember if I had a -ve for q5 or not...

You probably did - I just didn't minus the x term when implicitly differentiating so my dy/dx was (x+1)/4(y-3) or whatever instead of -(x+1)/4(y-3)...

BTW, did anyone find Q6 really weird??  The "sin(e) - sin(1)" one... I was sure I'd done something wrong because the x-values didn't give a nice answer...

Yeah, I found it weird and for some reason I decided to add a +c at the end. FML, do I lose a mark? c could be zero... =(

b^3, first question (1+x)/(9-x^2)
Yeh I've just had a look and somehow I've used some partial fractions and cancel something out. Dam probably gonna to get 0 for that now. Thats 4 marks gone (with 1 lost in q4) and the A+ is gone. Dam 36/40.

You might get 1 mark for the general idea.

Would I get a mark for that Argument question if I simplified the expression then did invtan(...) instead of polar/polar...
I know I didn't get the answer mark but would that be suffice for 1 mark?

Easy exam + silly mistakes = GG
Screwed up the tension question because I though 1x0.5=2 and g=49...
This year was ridiculously easy compared to previous years though and I expect the a+ cutoff to be pretty high, maybe 37+/40?
I assume the almighty Thushan did the exam three times? :P

I got that.
But my answer for q1 was different to itute's, something like: (1/6)loge(|x+3|/|x-3|) - (1/2)loge|9-x^2|
Anyone get this?

Nah I won't get any, I did something stupid like cancel down when there is a plus sign on the top!!!!!!!! It always takes me a couple of mins to get my brain working and in the mode. Why am I always moer likely to stuff the first question up!!!!

In Q3b, I drew the graph with asymptote at y=0 but with correct shape and y-intercept co-ordinates, how many marks do I lose?

For that question I think it should be pi+arctan(2-root3) or something if that process was used.
We should at least get 1 mark for it. I hope

I've got to say, a lot of us seem to have made stupid mistakes on an easier exam. Which kinda makes me feel better that I'm not the only one out there. We've got to make it up tomorrow though.

In fact I got something slightly different:
something like: (1/6)loge(|x+3|/|3-x|) - (1/2)loge|9-x^2|

I think it is 3-x rather than x-3

|3-x|=|x-3| so either is ok. I got this too.

I chucked q1 in my calc and it gave -1/3log e((x-3)^2|x+3|)
would it matter if i left mine as -1/3log e |(x-3)^2(x+3)| ?
