Yeah that's true.

To be honest after slacking off in legal for the year and only averaging A's in both GA and putting in my aims for my subjects next year via atarcalc (year 11 student here), I found that if I studied like crazy for legal, to my ability I could see myself getting 37 raw, which would contribute 3.7 to my ATAR, whereas if I didn't study I'd get 3.0. Needless to say, I've studied as best I can to redeem my poor SAC marks and am hoping for the best - I'm strangely relaxed about the exam, which at the same time worries me.

Just looked at my Legal Notes and what do you know - completely missed that they provided practice exam booklets! Wish the teacher had informed us, ugh.

Make the most of your year 11 3/4. You won't have time next year to totally devote your time to one subject.

And yeah don't get caught up in the 10% thing. It might only make a 0.7 difference, but if you screw up one of your "good" subjects you're in trouble if you completely neglected your planned 10% class. I had legal as my 10% but I made sure I still got A+ and top 3 rank. It'll probably save me in the end since I didn't go too well in further.

Yea.

Wish I had known of the scaling system, effort required etc. when I started year 11. The whole 'you're in year 11 and do very little, make legal count for something!" mentality only hit me late in the year, seems way too late/improbable to salvage legal for 40 but I'll try hard as you mentioned, good for backup.

Needless to say, doing a 3/4 a year earlier did give me valuable experience of what to expect/understanding.

I'm in the EXACT same boat as you. :\

During the 2 week holidays that we had, I felt so confident with Legal Studies - getting a 63/70 on the trial examination. Ever since then, I haven't touched Legal Studies AT ALL. Mainly because of my other examinations. I chose to focus on Economics and now I feel as if I know so little compared to what I knew a few weeks ago. Reading over my Legal Studies trial examination in sorrow. :'(

Anyway, I've done 2 trial examinations today and yeah hopefully getting all my knowledge back. I think I'm going to spend all of tomorrow rewriting out some notes because that's what I did during the holidays. Hopefully I can regain confidence by Tuesday? :l

Oh, not to mention I also have a Business Management examination 2 days after the Legal Studies one. I haven't started on Business at all. 2 days (yes, 2 days (I am extremely unproductive at studying right after examinations)) of cramming the whole course. Good luck to me.

been going over notes and it seems to be coming back so you should be fine  :D

Yeah I concentrated on eco too... how'd you go btw?

Seemed really easy (as it did for most of the state as well). The multiple choice was SUPPOSED to be harder this year but I was surprised at how shockingly easy it was. Hopefully 15/15 on that depending on how the fuel levy question goes...

I fucked up on the "in a competitive environment, give one example of how the government can intervene to distribute income..." questions though. I thought it was asking about market failure and did asymmetry of information and how MySchool helps to provide an incentive to improve online statistics -> employment -> equity. Instead, I could've just talked about the Low Income Tax Offset.  >:(

How'd you go (and what'd you put down for the fuel levy question - I did B)?

Lol unlucky dude, I definitely got 1 MC wrong possibly 2 :(

On a whole the exam was reasonable though. The rationale question was pretty weird so I just rambled about anything relevant I could think of LOL. I think I said LITO for that question haha.

I put B for the fuel question as well and apparently Mr Wood said B is correct. I'm pretty sure it was referring to the government taxing airplane companies... so that would raise their cost of production and shift supply left, contracting demand...
I got the MC about liquidity wrong, due to not knowing what liquidity was, sadly. I said it increased.

I heard they're trying to make the eco exam easier because too many people are choosing Business Management.

I've done a few practice exams back when we still had school. Although given that I haven't touched Legal for a while due to other exams, I feel like I've forgotten heaps of stuff. Tried another practice exam and got it marked without going over my notes again and I got my lowest mark yet lol.

Re-writing my notes now, and will probably do a few more practice exams between now and Tuesday.

What are you guys doing?
No one replied.

Although a bit off topic, how many did you do for BM last year? If you don't mind me asking.
