Finishing Unit 3 early

How many of you are/allready have gone ahead and finished all the exercises in unit 3 early, before youve covered them in class? Alot of people in other threads have said they will finish accounting (or other stuff like chem etc) unit 3 in the holidays. Is it really an advantage? I just reckon if you do the chapters relevant to your sacs in the couple of weeks before your sac you will be better off, as it is fresh in your brain. The only thing I am doing is reading ahead all of the remaining chapters, to get an understanding before we do it in class.

Thoughts??

Well, I'm in the process of finishing all my notes for unit 3, which will be updated ferociously as I go through completing practice exams, whilst also completing practical exercises.

Unit 3 is a massive overlap of units 1 and 2, and if you have a firm understanding (not just a cram for the exam type understanding) of the practical components of units 1 and 2 you can easily finish off this unit thoroughly during these holidays. The exam really doesn't cover that much content, obviously due to the fact that it is only testing one unit of knowledge.

I'm planning on being able to complete the exam by the end of these holidays, if not this week. Especially due to the massive load of important SACs coming up during this term.

So in short, I think it is an advantage, any extra work is an advantage over the next kid.

Personally I know people who go ahead of the coursework really quickly but don't remember it properly so they do extra revision and I figure it'd make more sense to go through it really thoroughly in the first place.  I can understand being a chapter or two ahead though.

The thing is, with accounting there's only (in my case anyway, and probably most people) 4 chapters to complete before the exam.

In these four chapters are topics which accounting students have already completed, and should know thoroughly.

Therefore with only a few hours work you can have finished the course, be fully ready for next term and therefore the examination.

Pretty good, I think.

Well you have to remember that subjects such as accounting chem physics etc all have mid year exams. So finishing Unit 3 these holidays means a whole 7-8 weeks of revision, practice exams, time to write and perfect a cheat sheet. I think thats a huge benefit.

Well, we can make a cheat sheet so to speak, just not allowed to bring it into the exam.

Writing and perfecting a set of notes is extremely beneficial.

I'm planning to complete Unit 3 by the end of the holidays and hopefully complete a couple of practice exams! Not too sure if I can be bothered though :)
But it will allow more time to perfect concepts and hopefully stop silly mistakes..

Finished unit 3 with only 39 days left till the exam, found it pretty easy considering most of the stuff was what we did last year.

Going to have a crack at a past exam to see where I am at
