3 VCE Subjects in Year 10

So, im 15 years old my my school starts its 'headstart' (which is basically starting the next year early so they can give us holiday homework) next week which means I will be starting Year 10. I, stupidly, elected to do 3 VCE subjects this year. At the time all I was thinking about how good its going to be having the option to do extra subjects or have spares in future years. Now the actual class part of it is worrying me. Has anyone else done this many VCE subjects in year 10?

man, try and have a little fun in year 10! I wouldn't try and do 3 subjects, it'd be such a drain! I didn't even take my one VCE subject in year 10 too seriously. It's more important to chill out and enjoy yourself in year 10 man!

Maybe he's got a crazy plan of finishing VCE in year 11 and then chilling out on a beach for a year while all his friends suffer through year 12 :P

Yeah I did. I was part of an accelarated program. The minimum amount of 1/2 we had to do was 3, max 4. Most of my class actually did 4.
Wait, this is assuming you mean Unit 1/2 subjects not 3/4's. But yeah. We had to do English, Methods and History, but we could also chose a fourth subject of biology or busman.
As long as you do the work, and put a decent amount of effort into you should be fine. I cant really say I did that, but I think I came out alright anyway and I did History in Year 11 (at a different school) as a result, and had I stayed at that school I would have done English or Methods as well.
And I definitely recommend you do a 3/4 in Year 11, it saves you the stress from needing to ace all your Year 12 subjects.

What subjects have you chosen?? And do you mean Unit 1&2 subjects or Unit 3&4's??
2010: History Revolutions 35
2011: English 3/4, Accounting 3/4, Economics 3/4, Mathematical Methods 3/4, International Studies 3/4.

I cant get out of it now unless I start failing more than two classes. But if i start failing i have to give up all of my classes and then go into year 10 classes, which are full of year 9s because my school has Year 9/10 electives.

At mine we have 6 subjects with 4 periods per day. In year 10 we have three core subjects; English, Maths and Personal Futures (Personal futures is basically health/humanities/drivers ed/self empowerment rolled into one class) and three electives. Im doing 11 Legal Studies, 11 Philosophy and 11 English OR 11 Lit (My school is telling me which one I got into on Friday).

Nope, he's year 10.

He does Philosophy, Methods, Biology, Chemistry, Literature as the 5 1&2s.

While you probably could do 3 subjects...like others have said, I wouldn't recommend it just for the sake of living the rest of your childhoods :D

I'm doing three 1/2s. I don't know whether it is just luck,  but I haven't found this year too stressful at all. I guess, as with anything, if you are enjoying what you are doing, you will be fine! I like to think that by doing three, year eleven isn't looking as daunting as I can put things into perspective :)
