Studying Extra Units

Say I do a degree which doesn't really offer much chance at elective subjects such as Medicine, will I be able to study extra units in other areas such as Mathematics or Informatics?

If so, apparently I will have to pay for them right?

I don't know how it works with monash, but yes that is the case with melbourne--you'd have to pay extra. However, I don't even think the faculty would let you unless you had a good reason.

Yeah, I just want to pursue an interest in mathematics and hopefully at least have some subjects which may serve as credentials when tutoring...etc. Hmm :)
