English oral topic?

Hi guys,
I have an upcoming english oral for year 12 English. We have to choose a controversial topic reported in the Australian media since September, arguing our view point on the issue.
Any ideas for a good topic? I was originally considering abortion but I found out there was five other people that I know of doing the same topic.

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated  :)

I did a boring topic that no one else did :) - Plastic bags
Maybe 2AM lockout on clubs,pubs and hotels?
