What? Serious? This is ridiculous. Is Scott still teaching it? Email Scott since he's the co-ordinator and he'll sort you out. Usually all the things you need were posted on moodle.

It must be a different format because last year it was more of a question "Week #2, Queston 1: Explain the role of Karma in Buddhism".

I just realised what you meant. It's just a suggestion, no sweat. If it's anything like last year, you just get a general question to do a presentation on. Just answer the question satisfactorily and you'll do fine. It doesn't need to have any necessary connection to that article (unless they've changed how its assessed).
Yeah seriously lol, can't believe that this is even an issue. Still hasn't replied, hopefully he replies by tomorrow. The article is actually helpful for my presentation so I want to use it.

Hey two things;

1) Unit enrolment ends tonight. Please tell me that is just for semester one as I do not have any units selected for semester 2 …
2) Also, I am doing a new degree called Global Studies (like Reus) which is a specialist degree in the Arts faculty. In my workshop, the people in my group were all talking about what they are already specialising in and the classes they are having for it (i.e. you can specialise in something like International relations, international studies and cultural literacies (i think)). Were they completely wrong or am I just behind? I want to specialise in IR but didn't know I could choose yet.

You have to e-mail them to find out? Awesome, very organised.

Do you have Sunshine? I actually love her. Mine was on Wednesday and I just wanted to hug her.
Ah nope! I have Sarah.

Also, for your MULO list for ATS1020, is there 2 or 3 lectures recorded?

1) enrolment for sem 1 ends tonight. sem 2 closes after sem 2 has started.

2) If the 'specialisation' thing works like major/minor in a typical undergrad degree. You don't consciously chose a specialisation, you just do the subjects needed to get the specialisation and then once you pass them all, you are awarded the specilisation. (If you are unsure check with the faculty though). (if you are doing a double degree your course plan would be different and thus single degree people may have chosen more specialist units for first semester as compared to you.

Yeah you should have chosen by now really since you've chosen your units. I was mainly interested in either IR and IS (lol not Islamic State)... Ended up choosing IR as it related to Global Politics (VCE) which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thus ATS1873 for Sem 1.

Also the IS (not again) tutor mentioned that IR was focused on foreign policy, social adjustments affecting the global community whereas IS (okay getting sick of this) is how these foreign policies or even intergovernmental schemes affect the people or that farmer responsible for the cotton production in Brazil who is marginalised as state's such as the US was to subsidise their domestic farmers to dominate the market, for example.

Thank you for responding. I was able to change my course within the last 10 minutes. Ended up dropping MTH1010 which I'll do next semester (unfortunately just spent like $350 on books) and put in IR which is the one I'm most interested in because I also liked Global. Ahh, you saved me! Massive load has just been taken off my shoulders because I absolutely hated MTH1010 and was so far behind from only being to half a lecture thus far!!!

If anyone missed the deadline to take additional subjects/swap you still may be able to email and beg your way into it. Otherwise, you now cant add units but you still have quite awhile to drop units (without replacement, its not as big of a deal as it sounds).

Aw man, I'm so sorry, I didn't check this thread ! But hey, great news about your book !

I've attached my timetable for anyone that wants to hang out with me :)

Is that a screenshot...of a photo...of a screen? I feel like this could have been done in far fewer steps.

Thank you so much Amalgam, Slothpomba and Reus for literally just saving me from fucking up my degree from doing all these spontaneous last minute changes! Thank you so much! You literally don't understand how badly I am thanking you right now. Thank you thank you thank you. Please add these people to some kind of ATARNote hall of fame because if this place is about helping people, I'd be completely lost if these guys didn't respond when they did like OMG.

Currently only BGS but I'm doing MTH1010 (thanks to the other guys who saved me from unenrolling thinking it was available in semester 2) so I can try get into commerce next year. Just had three options on a Friday for tutorial time (SUCKSSSSS wanted to work, only thing on a Friday) and ended up choosing midday with Amul Kamal or something lol. :( EDIT: Just realised I took the class spot in the class and it is now full!
