Anyone know any hacks to download MULO content if lecturers have disabled downloads? I can still get the audio with a video downloading add-on I have, but I can't take the actual visual content.

Last year I tried so hard to do this, I tried all add-ons, online tutorials etc. etc. I could find and I never managed to bypass the restriction, so I don't think it's possible.

The only way I can think off is to use screen capturing/recording software and play the entire video while the screen is being recorded, that would take a long time though.

Ever try the mozilla addon called "Video Download Helper"? It's icon is three balls; yellow, red and blue. My friend uses it for lectures, but at another uni.

Yeah that's what I was using. It takes the audio out just fine, but if your lecturer uses slides it's just not serviceable.

I'm going to be sending an email off to the chief examiners of two units I'm doing asking them to support my complaint that I'm going to make to the examinations manager regarding the scheduled exam times for those units. This email is almost 800 words long as of right now.

Is this just a bad idea, or is it a really, really bad idea?

I'd be really, really hesitant about sending such a long email. What are you saying in it?

It's exactly 641 words now. Basically Monash has accidentally (deliberately) made the procedure for exam complaints and grievances very obscure, so I have no idea how it actually works outside of the following page, which legit suggests complaining via post: https://www.monash.edu/exams/contacts/exam-grievances

So I'm emailing the chief examiners first because (1) I want to make sure they're aware of exactly how much of a joke the exam timetable the uni has given them is and (2) it seems to me like I'm more likely to get a good result if I work with the chief examiners rather than behind their backs. Therefore I'm just explaining my position - and why they should support it - as thoroughly as possible. So mostly I'm just going over the relevant policies that do and don't apply in this situation, what I want to achieve, why I'm emailing them and why they should help me out. And for brevity I just put a literal list of common sense reasons why it's an unfair schedule at the foot of the email. I also don't want to come across as combative, for obvious reasons.

I guess the email could just be
"Hey A and B,

I'm going to complain to the Examination Services manager about this timetable because it's unfair and your two units are affected by it. It would be great if I had the chief examiners for both units agree with me in this respect. Please support me by agreeing that it's unfair.

Regards,
Achre"

But that seems glib lol

Im currently writing an essay, and my feedback for my past essays was that my paragraphs were either too short or too long. I have chosen this time to have 5 paragraphs, not including intro and conclusion. Each one 250 words. The word limit is 1500. Do you guys think 250 words per paragraph is standard?

Lit review *finally* done! Now to start trimming it down (only ~500 words over) and relax for a bit :D

I don't think the issue is the amount of words. I think the bigger issue is how much or how little content you are including in each paragraph and avoiding unnecessary wordiness.

The general rule is each discussion point in your essay should have its own paragraph and it should be fully explained with evidence without repeating yourself or including unnecessary information.
