Just finished the first ever take-home midsem I've ever done. Can say I'm not a fan of them from this particular experience and hope to never come across another one in my last semester :')
what is the difficulty like in comparison to previous midsems?

For this particular unit? About the same apparently; the UC uses the same midsem every year apparently
To every other midsem I've done? Probably the hardest one I've done, it elicited several complaints across groupchats and the cohort facebook group :') also we didn't even skim the content for the test so ???

Strange to see the graduation tents going up already, it only feels like week 7 or 8 to me

First time using InPlace, and I've encountered nothing but troubles accessing the placement preference tab, which is stressful af rn as I have only a short amount of time (read as: due tomorrow) to submit my preferences, after they opened an hour ago.

Anyone else dislike that system, or is it just me? :')

Welcome to the club!

Also, unsure what it'll be like in your course but be prepared for the uni to take absolutely 0% of your preferences into account for placement :')

I'm so unsure either, the communication we've had about the whole thing is about 0- we were supposed to have preferences in about 3 weeks ago
Given that we actually have to interview, they probably do take them into account, but there's only like 40 of us doing an external placement, so I have my doubts. :')

So looking forward to all the 3 other units being squished into 3 days/week though to accomodate the research placement kids so they can do class and their 2 days/week pre-placement at the during the 8 weeks I actually have on campus next sem :')

It is infinitely better than the system it replaced.

May graduations are a bit of a weird one in general.

Heyyy I'm just curious (I'm not even a monash student lol) is the parkville campus smaller than the clayton one? Is the culture there different (since there probably is a smaller cohort) and is it fun there? I just wanted to know what uni culture is like haha ;D

Size: Parkville is really really small! It's 4 buildings (with building 5 being just offices for staff)! Clayton is massive in comparison- I have in the past gotten lost there! :)

Culture: Parkville is a little more like school, given that it's a smaller cohort, and you'll see the same people heapssssssssssssss. Also you'll see lockers on campus- they're real useful for pharmsciers, giving it much more of a school feel ^-^

Fun: Parkville has many events and a ball every year, it's pretty fun! (I'm in two club committees on campus currently 100% recommend attending events haha!) You're also more than welcome to participate in other Monash Clayton/Caulfied events too :)

Let me know if you have any more questions!!!

Much, much smaller! I never studied there (a bunch of AN members did/do, though, so they'll be able to help out!), but yeah, chalk and cheese in terms of campus size. :)
